BAFTA Awards

  • The EE BAFTA Awards will take place on Sunday 19th February and will be shown on BBC1. 
  • Richard E Grant will host the show from Festival Hall, with Alison Hammond in the BAFTA studio.

Placing A BAFTA Bet

Colin Farrell is odds on with bookmakers to win the Leading Actor award at this year's BAFTAs with The Banshees of Inisherin predicted to sweep the show. With odds of 4/9 to win the Leading Actor award, bookmakers say there's a 69% implied probability that Farrell wins. Austin Butler has drifted out to third favourite at 9/2 for his title role in the film Elvis despite winning the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama earlier this month. Farrell also won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for The Banshees of Inisherin.

The Banshees of Inisherin is the 2/5 favourite with bookmakers to win Best Film at the 2023 BAFTAs with odds available for one of the big categories at the show. The British movie is a black tragicomedy directed and written by Martin McDonagh set on an island off the west coast of Ireland. William Hill give the film a 71% chance of winning Best Film ahead of Everything Everywhere All At Once which has odds of 5/2 to win the award.

This Sunday, May 8th will see the TV Baftas Award Ceremony take place with special trophies awarded to winners across a whole range of categories. One month out from the BAFTA TV Awards taking place on 8th May 2022 at the Royal Festival hall on London's South Bank and should be aired live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.   • Can I Place A BAFTA Bet In Every Category?

    The bigger bookmakers normally have odds on the major categories only, some smaller bookies do not cover these awards. 

    If you wanted to place a BAFTA bet on a smaller category you could contact them on their website. 

  • When Are The BAFTA Awards?

    The BAFTAS are normally held in February each year. They use to be after the Oscars in May but moved the ceremony to February in 2001. 


  • When Was The First BAFTA Awards?

    The first BAFTA Awards were in May 1949. 

    There were three awards 

    Best British Film: Odd Man Out, starring James Mason. 

    Best Film: The Best Years Of Our Lives directed by William Wyler

    Best Documentary: The World Is Rich, a piece about food shortages after the war.

  • Where Is The BAFTAS Ceremony held?

    The BAFTAS Ceremony have taken place at the Royal Albert Hall, The Odeon Cinema in Leicester Square, The Royal Opera House in Convent Garden and The Royal Festival Hall.
