Additionally, in some cases, the Walsall manager's position might be vacant, but there are strong indications or even rumours about the potential replacement. Despite these unique circumstances, it is worth noting that if betting odds do become available, we will present them here in this section for your convenience. Who Will be the next Manager of Walsall

We may get some clues before a market is created when we look back at previous Walsall managers’ appointments and the odds on offer.

Troy Deeney

Birmingham born Deeney was heavily supported in the next Walsall manager betting when Michael Flynn was sacked in 2023. His odds were very short (4/5) but the position may have come a couple of years too early as he decided to move to Forest Green Rovers as a player/coach.

Danny Cowley

The Ubiquitous Cowley, who features in nearly every EFL betting market, has been away from management since being sacked by Portsmouth in January 2023. When he is appointed, somewhere, it will be his 4th time in a Football League hot seat after Lincoln City and Huddersfield Town.

Kevin Phillips

After a stellar goalscoring career (246 Goals in 580 Appearances), Kevin Phillips moved into coaching with Leicester City, Derby County and Stoke City. His first managerial offer came from South Shields in the Northern Premier League, where his side won promotion to the National League North. He left the North East club in April 2023 and was 6/1 to be appointed at the Bescot.

David Artell

Another out-of-work manager whose name features in next manager markets is David Artell. He was 8/1 in the Walsall odds before Mat Sadler got the position. Artell is best known for his long spell as Crewe Alexandra boss (2017-2022), where the club won promotion to League One and was named League Two Manager of the Year.

The former Arsenal and Tottenham defender has featured previously in the Walsall manager betting odds. Both his previous managerial appointments at Macclesfield Town and Southend United lasted less than a year.

How to Bet on the Next Walsall Manager

Making a bet on the next Walsall Manager is as easy as picking a contender from the bookmaker's list of contenders at the top of the page. You will need to find a bookmaker offering odds and this will be easier when no manager is in place and a little harder when the position is filled and not in jeopardy.

  1. Find the best football betting site offering odds on the next Walsall manager

  2. Choose one of the possible contenders

  3. Decide how much you want to bet

  4. Check the odds and stake to understand how much you may win if your prediction is correct

  5. Understand that if your prediction is wrong, you will lose money.

15th February 2022

Michael Flynn takes over at Walsall and is thrown in at the deep end with his first game against table-toppers Forest Green Rovers

“On the face of it, this appointment looks a far better fit for Walsall than the previous two incumbents. Far more experience, and coming with a reputation of turning the fortunes of one particular club - Newport County - completely around.”

BBC Radio WM's Rob Gurney

9th February 2022

After losing 7 games on the trot, Matt Taylor was sacked by Walsall, results were naturally unacceptable to the chairman and the Saddlers fans.
