Current Sutton United Manager

Steve Morison was appointed Sutton United manager on the 6th of January 2024. The former Cardiff City and Hornchurch boss replaced Matt Gray, who left the club in December. Sutton is rooted to the bottom of League Two with just four wins from 25 games, so Morison has his work cut out to keep them in the division. However, Sutton United will quickly move up the table if the 40-year-old can replicate his time at Hornchurch, who topped the Isthmian League when he departed. If not, and another change comes to the South London outfit, the best betting sites will have all the next Sutton United manager betting with clues on offer as to who is available for the U's via the next manager to be sacked blog

Who Will Be The Next Sutton United Manager

The last four Sutton United managers have been in the position much longer than most clubs. John Rains was in charge for nearly 10 years between 1996 and 2005, Paul Doswell even longer as he managed Sutton United for a shade under 12 years. Most recently Matt Gray was in charge for over 4 years.

The following managers featured in the betting odds after Matt Gray left and before Steve Morison was appointed. Morison was initially 8/1 when betting opened before being backed in for the Gander Green Lane vacancy.

Mark Bonner

After three years in his first managerial position at Cambridge United Mark Bonner was sacked in November 2023. He had guided the U's into League One in his first season (2020-21) but found the higher League naturally much tougher.

Steve Cotterill

There is rarely a managerial market in Leagues 1 and 2 that does not include Steve Cotterill. He built his managerial reputation at Cheltenham Town, guiding the club from the Southern League into the Conference and then the Football League proper. His next best period was at cash-strapped Notts County, where he took over in February 2010 and saw the club crowned Champions in April 2010. In total, Cotterill has now managed ten clubs, including Bristol City and Birmingham City.

Keith Curle

Hartlepool United became the eighth club the former Manchester City captain has managed. However, in February 2023, he was sacked by the Monkey Hangers and is currently available.

Gareth Ainsworth

Neil Ardley

gtphotography.org/shutterstockNeil Ardley currently manages York City in the National League but is strongly associated with the southeast from his time as a player and manager of AFC Wimbledon.

Andy Woodman
