When the experienced Mauricio Pochettino took over at Chelsea in July 2023, no one expected that he would come under pressure so soon at Stamford Bridge. However, a poor season with only a 6th-place finish saw Poch leave Stamford Bridge by mutual consent. His replacement was Enzo Maresca, the Leicester City manager. Mareasca was awarded a five-year contract, which looks designed to give the club some much-needed stability. Whether he can succeed where Potter, Lampard, Tuchel and Pochettino could not remains to be seen; if another change comes at Chelsea, the OLBG best betting sites page will ensure you get the best next Chelsea manager odds.

Enzo Maresca's coaching career started at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola before moving on to Parma in Italy. Results did not improve for the Italian club and he was dismissed after just fourteen games. Recently relegated Leicester City came calling in June 2023, and he hit the ground running at the King Power, ultimately guiding the Foxes to the EFL Championship.
Italian Managers At Chelsea
Enzo Maresca becomes the seventh Chelsea manager born in Italy. He follows Ancelotti, Conte, Di Matteo, Ranieri, Sarri, and Vialli.

Who Will be The Next Chelsea manager
Let's look at some of the contenders for the hot seat at Stamford Bridge. These names are sourced from the previous betting odds as well as managers whose profile fits Chelsea.
Roberto De Zerbi
The 44 year old Italian is it seems is in demand with Manchester City, Liverpool and now Chelsea reported to be interested in securing the ex Brighton and Hove Albion manager. His achievement in guiding the Seagulls into Europe for the first time in their history, alongside the quality of the play, made all football fans take notice.

Kieran McKenna
The former Manchester United coach moved into management with League One side Ipswich Town in December 2021. In the following two seasons, he won back-to-back promotions for the East Anglian club all the way to the EPL, a remarkable achievement for the rookie manager. Naturally, this has alerted other clubs.

Hansi Flick
Flick has managed three German clubs ( Victoria Nammental, 1899 Hoffenheim, and Bayern Munich). His success with the Bavarian club, who during his tenure won two Bundesliga titles and the 2020 Champions League, saw him sign a three-year contract to manage the German national team in 2021. That appointment went badly (PL25, W12, D7, L6), and Flick became the first manager sacked by his country. Despite his club's success, the Chelsea owners know that after all the money spent on players and managers, the next appointment they need to get right, Flick, may be seen as a risk, having not managed outside of Germany despite the bookies liking his chances.

Michel
Michel has only managed Spanish teams (Rayo Vallecano, Huesca), but his star has risen due to the performance of the team he now manages Girona. In the 2023/24 La Liga season, Girona qualified for the Champions League by finishing third behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Zinedine Zidane
A big character is needed to rally the highly-paid stars that abound in the Chelsea dressing room. Zizou surely has the footballing pedigree to handle any dissent in the ranks. The French World Cup winner had a glittering seventeen-year playing career before moving into football management with Real Madrid. He is yet to test himself away from Los Blancos, but the bookies expect him at some time to be given a job at another of the European Powerhouses, which could be Chelsea.
Image: shutterstock Jose Mourinho
With the Chelsea board needing to get the next appointment correct, could they turn to the safe (defensive) Jose Mourinho? As a manager, he would at least get their disparate squad organised. He left the Bridge under Abramovich's ownership in 2015, and if he returns to West London, it would be his third time as their manager.
Oleksandr Osipov//shutterstock
Xabi Alonso
The former Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich midfielder was the manager of Spanish League 2 side Real Sociedad (B) up until October 2022.
He then moved back to Germany to manage Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

Ruben Amorim
Image: BBC
Amorim, born in Portugal, has been in charge of Sporting Club De Portugal since 2020. During that time, his teams won the Primeira Liga and the Taca da Liga on two occasions.
Julian Nagelsmann
At just 36, Nagelsmann had already managed Hoffenheim, Leipzig and Bayern Munich. He is currently guiding the German National team, having replaced. Hansi Flick.
Diego Simeone
The Atletico Madrid manager has extended his contract until 2024. He has won two La Liga titles as well as reaching the Champions League Final on two occasions.
He broke the Barcelona/ Real Madrid stranglehold of football in Spain and his Madrid side been the only club that has regularly competed with those two giants.
However, his defensive risk-averse tactics may not endear him to fans of many EPL clubs, although Chelsea, who thrived under Jose Mourinho, is a club that maybe could accommodate him.
Massimiliano Allegri
The much-vaunted Allegri has only ever managed teams in Italy.
As one of the best coaches in Europe, you would expect at some time, he would want to test his managerial prowess on foreign soil.
He has the stature and gravitas to fit perfectly at ambitious Chelsea.
Roberto Mancini
Another familiar face to the EPL is Roberto Mancini. His reputation grew after winning the European Championship in 2020
Mancini had been In charge of the Italian national side since 2018 but quit to become the Saudi Arabia manager.
