Graham Potter is now 5/1 second favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave
Chelsea manager Graham Potter is the 5/1 second favourite with bookies to be the next Premier League manager to leave after his side were knocked out of the FA Cup on Sunday.
Back-to-back defeats to Manchester City, both in the League and the FA Cup, have increased the question marks that had been surrounding Potter's position in charge of the Blues.
William Hill have moved his odds from 20/1 down to just 5/1 in the space of 24 hours after pressure started to mount on the Chelsea boss in leaving the club.
Next Premier League manager to leave | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Frank Lampard
|
1/2 | 66.7% |
Graham Potter | 5/1 | 16.7% |
David Moyes | 13/2 | 13.3% |
Nathan Jones | 7/1 | 12.5% |
Gary O'Neil | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Chelsea have a local derby against Fulham next up this Thursday with all eyes expected to be on Potter going into the game.
A defeat at Fulham could well signal the end of the Potter reign just 4 months after Chelsea paid a reported fee of around £16m to take the manager from Brighton.
Graham Potter has been backed into the 5/1 second favourite to be the next Premier League manager to go as the pressure heaps on the Chelsea manager to get results.

Former Chelsea player and manager Frank Lampard remains favourite with his Everton side struggling
Frank Lampard is back into favourite to be the next manager to leave at 1/2 after his Everton side were thumped at home to Brighton in the Premier League last Tuesday..
Everton's 1-1 draw away at champions Manchester City the weekend before helped Lampard's cause massively but his side were brought back down to earth against Brighton.
The Toffees were also knocked out of the FA Cup this past weekend after losing 3-1 away to Manchester United but based on form this result was to be expected.
Bookies now say there's a 66% chance that Lampard is the next manager to be dismissed in the Premier League this season.
David Moyes has drifted out to 8/1 from the odds-on that he was at last week
West Ham United manager David Moyes was the odds on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave the club this time last week following West Ham's poor form.
Moyes' men sit in 17th place in the Premier League table following their 2-2 draw to Leeds last week but their 1-0 win to Brentford in the cup will have eased the pressure slightly on Moyes.
Paddy Power still have Moyes as the 6/1 second favourite to be the next manager to leave but the majority of other bookmakers now put Potter just above Moyes in the market.
