It took a while after Dino Maamria was sacked, but finally, rookie manager Martin Paterson was appointed Burton Albion manager on the 12th of January, 2024. He has been an assistant at Barnsley and Swansea, but this is his first chance as a permanent club manager. The Brewers Chairman obviously liked what he saw; only time will tell if the decision was correct. The team must start winning games as Paterson takes over with Burton in 17th place in League One. If yet another change does take place at the Pirelli Stadium the best betting sites will have all the next Burton Albion manager odds.

Best Betting Site for Next Burton Albion Manager Betting

There is a huge range of UK Bookmakers to choose from but only very few that offer next-manager betting, if at all - As we have covered every club management change over the seasons, looking for betting odds on who the next club manager will be, we have found the following betting sites to be the most reliable and quickest to get odds up for the next manager at most clubs

Who Will Be The Next Burton Albion Manager

A list of the potential candidates should the Burton Albion job become available today based on previous people appearing in the betting odds when the position was vacant last time, to others who have a profile that would fit the club in terms of the last few managers they have had.

Gary Rowett

After four years at Millwall ( 2019-2023) Rowett left by mutual agreement and is now available for other management opportunities. Rowett played for Burton Albion (2005-2007) and then managed the Brewers (2012-2014) before moving to Birmingham City in the Championship. Since then, he has also had spells at Stoke City and Derby County.

Steve Cotterill

Steve Cotterill built his managerial reputation at Cheltenham Town, guiding the club from the Southern League into the Conference and then the Football League proper. His best period was at cash-strapped Notts County, where he took over in February 2010 and saw the club crowned Champions in April 2010. In total, Cotterill has now managed ten clubs, including Bristol City and Birmingham City.

Dean Brennan

Dublin born Brennan has managed a host of non league sides and is currently in charge at Barnet of the National League who are flying high in the 2023-24 season.

Mark Bonner

After nearly four years and over 200 games at Cambridge United, Bonner was sacked in November 2023. In his first football manager position, he guided the U's to promotion from League Two in 2021. In the 2023-24 season, he found the League One campaign troublesome and, with the club in 18th place, was let go.

Gareth Ainsworth

Gareth Ainsworth managed Wycombe Wanderers for over ten years (2012-2023) before being lured away by a club he had played over 140 games for - Queens Park Rangers. His time at ambitious QPR was a disaster, winning just five of twenty-eight games. In October 2023, he was sacked.

John McGrath

The Limerick-born McGrath is remembered fondly by many Brewers fans, having played for the club over 200 times between 2007 and 2013; he was named their player of the year in 2008 and was part of the 2008-09 side that won promotion from the Conference and into League 2. He moved into management at Mickleover, who play their football in the Southern League Premier Division. He has long been touted as a future Burton Albion manager.

Danny Cowley

Image: rex features

He built his reputation at Lincoln City between 2016 and 2019, winning promotion to the Football League in his first season with the Imps. The 2018-19 season saw a further promotion for Cowley and Lincoln into the dizzying heights of League 1. This success naturally attracted more prominent suitors, and in September 2019, he joined recently relegated Huddersfield Town. He managed to keep the club in the Championship but was sacked in July 2020. Portsmouth was his next club, joining Pompey in March 2021. Results were mixed, and at the start of 2023, with the club in 12th place, he was again given the boot. Cowley (and his brother) were linked to the Oxford United job before Liam Manning was appointed in March 2023.

Lee Bowyer

The Canning Town-born midfielder moved into management with his former team, Charlton Athletic, in 2018. He spent three years there and secured promotion to the Championship in 2019.  Unfortunately, the club only lasted one season in the higher tier, and they were relegated back down to League One. Bowyer left the club in March 2021. He moved to Birmingham City, but the results could have been better, and with the club seemingly going nowhere and with no definable style, he was sacked in July 2022. In a real left-field move, Bowyer was appointed to manage the Montserrat National team in September 2023. The Caribbean side plays in the CONCACAF federation.
