This constituency spans parts of the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, and Havering. Following the 2023 Parliamentary Constituencies Order, based on the 2020 ward boundaries, changes include moving Chadwell Heath to Ilford South and adjusting boundaries with neighboring constituencies. Historically part of Romford and represented by Labour since 1945, Cruddas secured the seat in 2010, 2015, and narrowly in 2019. Redrawn electoral wards in 2022 no longer match the constituency's boundaries exactly.
