2025 Summer Plate Preview

The Summer Plate is run at Market Rasen in July of each year, the race is a Group 3 Handicap Chase which is run over two miles, five and a half furlongs for runners aged four years old or older who will face a total of fourteen fences during the race.

Summer Plate Information:

To see which runners the OLBG racing tipsters are tipping throughout the card that includes this race, head over to the Market Rasen tips on the day of the race, do they agree with the runners on the trend shortlist or are they predicting other runners?

How competitive is the Summer Plate market? When looking at the over-rounds for the last 20 renewals, the most competitive market was in 2006 when the race had an over-round of 119%. The race in 2010 was a race that was most in the bookie's favour with an over-round of 134%, whilst on average over the last 20 renewals of the Summer Plate, the over-round has been 127%, which means the bookie expects to pay out £100 for every £127 which is bet.

Summer Plate Trends:

Looking at the future form, is the winner worth following next time out? From the past 20 if you had followed the winner of the Summer Plate next time out then you would have backed a total of 5 winners. Backing all 19 runners who have been out since to win at SP next time out, would have returned an LSP of -2.12. Ahead of the 2025 Summer Plate why not head over to the racing predictions for tips on other races today?

Over the last 20 renewals, it was More Bucks, trained by Peter Bowen and ridden by Sean Bowen who set the fastest winning time in the Summer Plate, the runner won the race in a time of 5:15.90 when winning the race in 2018.
