After spending 5 years at Team Bath and 12 years at Exeter City Paul Tisdale’s most recent jobs have been much shorter in length, he lasted 73 games at Milton Keynes Dons and a truncated 19 and 21 matches at Bristol Rovers and Stevenage. The sheen of his managerial talents has slightly faded due to those recent disappointing performances but we suspect there will be a club willing to appoint the man who was League 2 Manager of the Year in 2009 and who has achieved promotion for 3 of the 5 clubs where he has been the boss.
The former Newport County assistant and caretaker manager could well be in the running when current manager Graham Coughlan leaves or is sacked by Newport. He was in charge for 5 games in October 2021 (W1 D3 L1) but left in February 2022 to reunite with former Newport boss Michale Flynn at Walsall.

The Irish born manager played 461 games for various lower league clubs with his longest spell at Plymouth Argyle between 2001 and 2005. He was a tough tackling centre-back who took no prisoners. Coughlan twice made the PFA Team Of the Year when at Argyle.
He retired in 2013 when at Southend United having been a player/assistant manager for the Shrimpers. His first foray into a full-time managerial position came in the west country at Bristol Rovers where had a 45% win rate.
From there he moved to Mansfield Town, in part it seems to be closer to his family who lived in Yorkshire. The Stags experiment went badly and Coughlan was in charge for just 27 games over two seasons winning only 4 of them.
In October 2022 he was back in a hot seat when he beat off 26 other applicants to secure the Rodney Parade vacancy.
