bet365 are ahead of the game with Bet Builder Innovation for the best offer
- Now available in-play so you never miss out.
- All Bet Builder bets are available for cash out.
This is the most comprehensive analysis of the bet that's all the rage. But who has the best offer? The Request a Bet phenomenon is in full swing and it doesn't look like it's going away.
bet365 are ahead of the game with Bet Builder Innovation for the best offer
The Request a Bet phenomenon is in full swing and it doesn't look like it's going away for some time.
BetVictor gave away a £1,000,000 prize during the World Cup 2018 for the bet type.
There is a host of other bet builders available. This list based on outstanding elements I found during my research. From offering the best odds over many researched and compared bets, to available sports outside football.
The best range of weekly promotions you'll find online. Quinnbet are rapidly becoming one of the most popular bookmakers newly listed on OLBG.
In extensive testing and comparison, Unibet provided, on average, the best bet builder odds, all from the on-site bet building function
Great basketball bet options in bet builder and the best free bet club too. Betway serves up a good offer for the punter
No name for Boyles Bet Builder. It's a simple on-site feature with no faffing about on Twitter
Still lovin' the Twittersphere for bet builder, Paddy also has pre-made options to choose from on site
Huge options and markets to choose from to put together your personal bet. Would be great to see the best bookie for Golf offer it there too!
Not sure who came up with the name but great bet builder odds from 888Sport compliment good acca bonuses on offer too
Great odds. Only Unibet better by a fraction, also tennis and Golf BB available with NFL and NBA being added
The very nature of request-a-bets is that people are looking for bigger prices on their football bets. But do you know some bookmakers offer MORE THAN DOUBLE the odds for the exact same bet builder bet?
Even over the average odds offered across multiple researched bets, the best bookie offered over 50% better odds!
In bet builder bet and odds comparison, Unibet beat all 26 competitors with 53% better odds than another bookmaker!
I am pleased to present something I believe, at the time of writing, to be a unique piece of research on bet builder features across the best betting sites that offer these promotions.
The Bet Builder function in its various forms and names is not new. It has been around since Skybet introduced Request a Bet via twitter requests for specific bets not available on site.
The bookmaker formerly known as Surrey Sports, it is claimed, are the pioneers of offering a price on a unique bet. In reality, the practice has been going on for many years. Decades even.
The thirst to build your own bets is unquenchable. Make sure you are using the right bookmaker
However, they can receive the pioneer tag for what 'asking for a price' has become in recent times. Indeed 'RequestABet' is now trademarked. Some bookmakers have decided to call theirs 'Bet Builder,' while others have sat around a table and spat out their variations of the moniker. The table on this page displays the various names attributed.
There are three distinct online offerings of the bet builder feature, and a fourth which sits outside this research, namely; going into a shop and asking. Those to which I refer in this article are as follows.
Again, pioneered by Skybet, they were joined quite quickly by a host of the more prominent operators. While many continue to communicate these requested odds via twitter before making them available on-site, four main protagonists remain very active on Twitter.
Request-a-Bet Bookmakers on Twitter | |

Skybet | Betway |
Ladbrokes | William Hill |
In tests undertaken during September 2019, I found both Skybet and Betway to have a speedy response time to price requests. In fairness, I requested the very same three-part bets of all four bookmakers. William Hill came in a slow third and Ladbrokes a tortoise paced 4th and with noticeably shorter prices which may explain the delay.
A more significant number developed the idea and made creating these bets less challenging by offering them on site.
Dedicated on-site development additions made getting odds on these bets, quicker and easier. This new straightforward way of seeing the various options and building your own, unique bet, was enthusiastically welcomed by football punters.
From experience and collected data from previously requested bets, they could also add pre-empted options. To either negate the need to go about building your own, or direct you to poor value options. Your choice of which of those are valid is down to your perception. I am always quite wary of those pre-made and promoted bets myself.
These are numerous. The various marketers within the online bookmakers both understood mobile use increases and the opportunity to grow, arguably, more valuable mobile usage, by offering their bet builders on mobile devices only.
A good idea in some ways as it encourages installs of the bookmakers apps. It is often misunderstood though, as in most cases an app is not required. Accessing the website via a mobile browser is enough to open the bet builder for you.
The following bookmakers, most of whom, use the same sports betting platform provider offered bet builder, but only on their mobile site or app.

When I decided to undertake this comparison, it was for another project called rate my bookie. It has served an interest, however, and I was surprised in the difference in prices offered.
Disclaimer: It would be impossible to compare every possible combination of every football match, so I have used a straightforward, 3 part bet. The options are also from the most popular and basic markets to ensure comparison of as many different bookmakers offering the feature can be completed. Going into marginal markets would not allow direct comparisons between bookmakers. The project is ongoing and more comparisons will continue to be added and a league table of best odds maintained.
It's nearly double the odds at 20/1 - Another example at lower odds had a 70% difference between best and worst!
Below I present only two games used and explain the bets on which I requested prices. Regardless of how I went about obtaining the prices, I present here, what odds were offered by each bookmaker.
You will be surprised by the results, perhaps as much as I was.
The games and bets were as follows.
Friday, September 6th, 2019
Germany v the Netherlands - Euro 2020 Qualifier
Germany Win Match - BTTS 'Yes' - FGS Marco Reus | ||
---|---|---|
Best Odds | 21.00 | bet365, Betway |
Average Odds | 15.32 | n/a |
Lowest Odds | 11.40 | fun88 |
As you can see, the best odds offered were some 82.5% better than the worst. That's an incredible difference.
In the most simple terms, a £10 bet with one of the top 3 would return £210 against £114 with the worst!
Tuesday, September 16th, 2019
Dortmund v Barcelona - Champions League
Barca Win - BTTS 'Yes' - FGS Greizman | ||
---|---|---|
Best Odds | 18.00 | Unibet |
Average Odds | 12.07 | n/a |
Lowest Odds | 8.25 | 10Bet |
This match saw the best bookmaker offer better than double the odds of the worst!! Thats 118% better odds from UNIBET
These prices are also an excellent example of tweet response time, as I requested both bets at the same time around mid-morning. Skybet came back with the biggest price quite quickly, while it took several hours and until around 4.30pm for Ladbrokes to respond with the lowest price. Make of it what you will.
We continued to make bet requests for games from the Euro 2020 qualifiers, Premier League, Championship and Champions league throughout September, eventually evaluating 20 matches and 20 request-a-bets from each of the 22 bookmakers
Best Bookmaker for Bet Builder Odds | |
---|---|
Unibet | 11.97 |
Leovegas | 11.94 |
Betfair | 11.80 |
888Sport | 11.64 |
Let's skip to the bottom of the table | |
10Bet | 7.49 |
So there we have it, the best and worst bookmakers for bet builder odds.
This is not to say those bookmakers at the bottom of the chart are not worthy of business. Indeed, it was somewhat of a surprise to see 10Bet right at the bottom, given they are so competitive in so many areas and our one of my star bookmakers in so many ways. It is simply, they are to be avoided for request a bets.
This research has highlighted once again, why you should have more than one bookmaker account. As all of our bookmaker guide articles have shown, one bookmaker may be best for one aspect of betting, whilst should be avoided for another. Take a look at all of our bookmaker guides for more information and to ensure you are betting with the right bookmaker for the type of bets you place.
Make sure when using Bet Builders you are using bookmakers that offer the best odds
Bet builders are by far the best option over tweet request-a-bets. With far more convenience, the opportunity to edit pre-set bets, instant pricing, and now cash out and multiples, the on-site option is a runaway winner.
One advantage the twitter route has over on-site builders is the flexibility to communicate directly. You can ask the social team, who will in turn forward your request to the traders. With any luck, you'll not have to wait long for the price offer.
Another potential advantage is that the options are unlimited. You are requesting a blank book. Although some bookmakers offer around 70 different markets to choose, how many more I could think of that are not covered, I am not sure.
These look like the only advantage. On-site bet builders, the good ones, have most of the popular options covered.
You will see the price fluctuate as you add and remove options — no waiting for a tweet notification and a link to find the odds and place the bet.
Some bookies offer cash out from their bet builder sections.
bet365 have even introduced the ability to add bet builder bets into multiples. Can you imagine?
So why do bet365 rate as the best bet Builder product on the market?
Quite simply, the range of options and ease of creation without the Twitter fluff makes it quick, simple and easy.
The addition of in-play options as well as cash out on the bets, despite a 6 selection limit, are enough to make it stand out from the crowd.
And it is available on desktop too.
Betway is a good option for American Football Fans
A really accessible product from bet365 without the social media to and fro, and staying ahead of the competition with new innovation
Bet365 are the pioneers of the on-site technology and broke into the lead with their product so it goes without saying they’re the ones who stole a march on their competitors.
On top of being available first, Bet365 has recently upgraded its Bet Builder to make it available in-play and for pre-match cash out.
You can make up to six selections to create your unique bet.
You can now add your bet builder bet to bet365 accumulators, either aginst other singles selection or even against other bet builder bets!!
You have to have a bet365 Account
You can create your bet builder in play and even use the cash-out facility to lock in profit or limit loss at any time
Initially only available in football, a tennis bet builder facility was recently added. Bet365 has vastly opened the options of which you can combine for your bet. There’s absolutely no doubt that this bookmaker are leading the way in the options.
Here are some of the best ones available:
Tennis
Tuning into bet365 at Half-Time? No problem!
"Request A Bet" is simply a name given to a function where you can add several different outcomes for the same event and create a single bet.
There are several ways to request a bet these days. The preferred method is, of course, the quickest and easiest. In that order, they go like this..
We should point out at this stage that "Request A bet" is simply the name adopted by Skybet for this function on their site.
As you have seen above, different bookmakers have different names for it.
Different bookmakers have their own names for their bet builder functions [Normally]
Often in the past, a punter could get caught out with having bets made void due to "Related Contingency".
This was an incident of one or more predictions where the outcome of one bet wholly or partly contributed to the outcome of the other.
These bets, under the bookmaker betting rules, were made void.
Example: The following two bets would not have been accepted as a double in the past as this would have been deemed a related contingency bet. You can understand why, as the second part of the double would ensure the first part of the double could not lose.
So you can have things like
As you add these different possibilities to your bet, so the odds increase.
There are scores of different options to choose from and tens of thousands of permutations that can be created.
Initially this type of bet begun on Social media and Twitter in particular.
Twitter followers of a bookmaker would need to tweet the bookmaker with the specific hashtag and the bet request.
This would then be passed onto the traders and if they were prepared to offer a price, it would be added to the online bookmakers' website.
A tweet would be sent out with a link to fast track readers to a bet slip to make the bet
This is still very much the case, but you can also go to the bookmakers website now, and see a huge range of featured request a bets to choose from.
Or simply take the different options featured on site and build your own right there and then.
As the function evolves, bookmakers are offering bet building on many sports including Tennis, Basketball, Rugby, NFL and even Horse Racing
Originally conceived for Football betting, build a bet is becoming more widely available across a range of sports and is not limited to only football.
Some tennis options are limited, but in one of the greatest stats based games in the world, request a bet has huge potential for American Football!
That accolade has to go to an anonymous punter who took part in BetVictors Bet Builder promotion for the World Cup in the Summer of 2018
Not only did he build a bet with over 17,000/1 odds that he got correct, but BetVictor paid out a £1m bonus for being the biggest all correct odds bet builder prediction of the Tournament.
There is every chance that they will run a similar Euro2020 Betting offer, but will be sure to have a promotion for enhanced odds or price boosts
The winning bet, which the company priced at 17,042/1, included the BetVictor customer predicting the correct score (2-1 Uruguay), exact number of corners (Uruguay 2 – Portugal 10) and Uruguay to receive no cards inside 90 minutes.
Rated #1 Betting app and often best odds to be found on football and racing. Low minimum deposit and great welcome offer to try BetVictor as your online betting site.

It wasn't long ago this list was much shorter, and in the coming weeks and months, it is sure to grow. We will expand and review as new bet builder products are launched
More and more bookmakers are introducing their own version of SkyBet's request a bet and punters are looking to use them more frequently than free bets & bonuses as an incentive to open a new account.
We should all be taking advantage of the opportunities that bet builder and request a bet offer us.
The bookies are allowing us to choose our markets, and giving us the ability to get bigger returns, and we should not ignore these bet builder and request a bet options.
A few years ago, anyone who had tried to do this would have been knocked back by the bookies, but the betting landscape is changing and we no longer have to settle for poor odds and limited opportunities.
We are truly entering a period of personalised odds where bookmakers will allow you to request your bets.
You can request odds directly from the odds compilers and all the best uk bookmakers will give you betting odds for your chosen selections. You also have the ability to use social media for your requests.
Bookies are offering same game multis, in play bet building, the ability to edit bet builders, existing price it up markets with pre-selected games, and all manner of individual odds. We expect this personalisation of our individual bets to grow
Of course we will never have everything in our favour because the more “legs” you add to a bet builder the greater the risk. The overround (the bookie's margin) is compounded to the detriment of us as punters each time you add another selection.
But at the bigger bet builder and request a bet odds you don’t need to be as right as often, and if you know your sport or team the bet builder facility can be a real bonus, and is another string to our betting bow.
You will have to search far and wide to find a wider range of bet Builder options than Betfair produce!
The Bet Builder takes a couple of forms here.
You have to have a Betfair Sportsbook or Exchange Account - Create one here.
OddsonThat and Same game Multi are intrinsically the same things.
The difference being the Same Game Multi is presented for individual games to make your selections from.
The #OddsOnThat section is those that have been created previously on request or perhaps from the SGM section.
Of course, you still have the option of considering your own and tweeting Betfair, but with the Same Game Multi function, the odds are built right there and then on the app, so it's a good time saver too!
I found well in excess of 250 different request a bet options for a single Champions League match
Try OddsOnThat with BetfairTaking a mid-week champions league game between Manchester City and Lyon we looked at just how many options were available.
For the same game multi, there were no fewer than 27 different markets you could combine to create your bet.
That was nothing compared to the options within the #OddsOnThat section.
There were a total of 137 bet options to choose from.
In addition, if there wasn't enough already there were a further innumerable options for
And a bunch of Live Trebles based around 'Winner' + 'Corners' + 'Card Index' options
I was able to find other bet builder options for both Tennis and Golf.
As with most, William Hill offers the opportunity of contacting them via Twitter with the hashtag #YourOdds to request a bet and a price on any outcome, or series of outcomes you wish.
You will receive a reply stating what offer you have been made and a link to go to the William Hill website and place the bet.
You have to have a William Hill Account - Create one here.
It is available for pretty much any sport you wish to bet on, which is great.
I particularly like the fact that there are ready made Golf and American Football options on #YourOdds.
The bet is added to the website too. So if you don't want to go through the rigmarole of making a bet up and doing all the Twitter stuff, you can simply browse which #yourOdds have been added.
Simply when in the sport you want to bet on, hit the #yourOdds/Specials button and you'll see a range of ready-made YourOdds bets to be picked from.
Weekends are plainly the busiest if you want to browse ready made your odds bets.
I particularly like the fact Golf and American Football are readily available!
I think you will be very impressed with the choice William Hill #YourOdds gives all players.
Never shy of a gimmick to entertain their customers Paddy Power are at the request a bet party with their version #WhatsOddsPaddy.
You have to have a PaddyPower Account - Create one here.
Good luck!
Once again you can create your own unique bet by tweeting Paddy Power with the hashtag #WhatOddsPaddy and the same process of then getting back to you with a price and betslip link is run through.
Beware, as one of the bookies with the biggest social following, they can take a little longer than others to come back with a price, such are the volume of requests
With Betfair and PaddyPower being one and the same these days it was only a matter of time before same game multis for football were added.
This provides a great shortcut to the to and fro of #WhatOddsPaddy on Twitter, where you can create your bet and get an instant price on site.
It is interesting the different names different forms have given request a bet, Betway have gone with #BetYourWay
Betway have a really expansive NFL Bet Building offering, and should be considered for your Weekend American Football Request a Bets
You have to have a Betway Account - Create one here.
In all honesty, Betway is not leading the way in terms of the social interaction.
The replies look a little disjointed at times.
The convenience of a bet slip link is rarely provided, meaning you have to go to the site and find the bet.
That said, I was very impressed with the number of #BetYourWay bet options on site for American Football
The request a bet twitter action isn't as good as others, but the onsite NFL #BetYourWay options were better than many others.
It would appear that Boyle Sports’ Bet Builder is only available via their mobile website.
However, it also seems like you’re able to access their mobile site via desktop too so your guess is as good as mine on this one.
That said, you’re still able to use it on both desktop and mobile… should you wish to.
There is no Twitter action on Boylesports, rather you can just go to the site and build your bet there,
You have to have a Boylesports Account - Create one here.
So, maybe not as interactive as requesting a bet for the world to see on social media, but the on-site bet builder provides the service and cuts out the fluff
Slightly more restricted in comparison with the bookies mentioned previously, Boyle Sports have earmarked eight selected markets to be on. They are:
However, only five selections can be combined.
Another good name from BetFred for their request a bet function. #PickYourPunt this time.
This function is now available for desktop and mobile users.
A little like Betway on review of some of the tweets but to be fair BetFred do state in the dedicated on-site section that the PickYourPunt bet builder has most options already covered.
If you can't find what you want you can THEN tweet your request a bet.
Some tweets are over a day old have not had a reply, so I am guessing Betfred reserve the right only to reply to those they provide odds on
You have to have a BetFred Account - Create one here.
A quick look on-site and there is a PickYourPunt information page with qualifying events.
So you can plan ahead and makes sure the event you want to build a bet for will be available before tweeting.
This may have been the cause for the unanswered tweets I noticed
Save time on tweeting a request on an event that's not covered by checking the PickYourPunt page first
SkyBets Request a Bet is arguably one of the busiest, so dont expect a super quick response time
Things work slightly differently with 10Bet.
Again a mobile-only feature you construct your perfect bet how you want from the options available.
You have to have a 10Bet Account - Create one here.
It is straightforward if not a flashy feature and the limit of just 6 selections is a little shorter than what others offer.
To assist you in your bet builder match selection check out the OLBG Free Football Tips.
Same match bet builder is a bet that is now available to create on many online bookmaker websites and apps [some exclusively on mobile] and considers several different betting markets within the same football match. Each prediction is considered with the next and odds offered to make the bet, which can be accepted, edited, or increased. cash out is sometimes available on these new bets.
The way bet builder or request a bet [same thing] works, is that the bookmaker will offer a range of different betting markets on the same football match. You simply go through and select as many as you like. As you do so each selection is collected together and combined odds offered depending on the probability of all the elements happening. Some huge odds and very unlikely outcomes have been bet and won in the past.
Not all bookmakers offer a cash-out facility on bet builder bets, but bet365 do. Along with other bookmakers, under certain circumstances the option to cash out at any time to lock in profit, or limit loss is possible on bet builder type bets.
You can make your own bets, and if you can find a bookmaker to offer you odds you are happy with then you have a wager. The birth of request a bet, ad bet builders [same thing] have made this process much easier, especially around football betting in the UK
You can bet on anything so long as you can find a bookmaker willing to offer you odds. If you fancy your grandson to be the next man to walk on the moon and a bookmaker is willing to give you odds you are happy to bet at, then this would prove bets on anything are possible.
