OLBG member Davidg3907 has looked at the EPL handicap market for the new season.
Each EPL club is given a + PLUS handicap apart from Manchester City.
Each club at the start of the season is priced normally around 15/1.
There are handicap variations between online bookmakers, so please do check the best handicap for the team you want to back
So you will see something like this
- Chelsea + 8 @15.0
- Leicester City + 19 @15.0
- Newcastle United +41 @15.0
- So if Chelsea win 80 points, their handicap total will be 88 @15.0
- If Leicester win 65 points then their handicap total will be 84 @15.0
- If Newcastle win 50 points their handicap total will be 91 @15.0
The odds will change throughout the season but the handicap will remain the same.
That means, as, with a normal market, you can place the bet at any point during the season except during a round of matches when most bookies will suspend the market.
At the end of the season, the Handicap Table will be collated and teams will be placed 1-20, you just need to find a team that will do well and make the top four or ideally come first.
In the past, one or more of the outsiders would beat their mark by sufficient to win it – or at least give a good showing.
More recently, handicaps for these teams have been significantly less generous.
However, that also means that the overall winning aggregate is now lower than in the past, which in turn brings more teams into the reckoning.
Any team reaching 95 handicap points will be in with a good chance, so the handicap mark doesn’t need to be beaten by as much.
