Now that the Football Season is in full swing I would like to share a bet that I have used several times before and won a few times with too.

Dutching

You simply pick (dutch) 3 correct scores from 3 or 4 chosen matches and perm them for small stakes, you could win big amounts.

To learn more about dutching bets please visit this dedicated betting school article.

Ok, so some people like to back on singles only and don't like to bet in multiples but this bet can get you on the edge of your seat waiting for the last game, especially if it's a live TV game.

What is dutching?

Dutching is a strategy of backing multiple selections (2 or more) in the same event.

What I normally do is pick 3 or 4 home teams that I think will keep a clean sheet, then i would pick 2-0, 3-0 & 4-0 scorelines.

If I was picking 3 matches and choosing doubles and a treble for only 20p stakes your total outlay is just £10.80 and your bet would look like this -

  • Team A to win 2-0, 3-0 & 4-0
  • Team B to win 2-0, 3-0 & 4-0
  • Team C to win 2-0, 3-0 & 4-0
  • 27 x 20p Doubles & 27 x 20p Trebles = £10.80

As you have picked 3 scores, you will need to multiply 3 by 3 to get your doubles.

3 by 3= 9, then you have 3 doubles so they become 27 doubles and your treble would be 3 x 3 x 3 = 27 trebles.

Dutching Two Selections

If you spent £10 on two selections at 5/1 & 6/1, you would place £5.38 @ 5/1 and 4.61 @6/1. This would return a profit of £22.31 if either won.

Now let's say your prices for all your 2-0's are 7/1, 3-0's are 10/1 & 4-0's are 16/1.

Team A wins 2-0, this gives you £1.60 going onto Team B and they win 3-0, you will then have £17.60 going onto Team C and 3 different scores, knowing that you have already made a profit from your double if Team C win by any of your 3 scores you will have 3 doubles and your treble up.

You can, of course, pick your own scores, if you fancy a draw strongly, then simply choose 0-0, 1-1 & 2-2 as your scorelines if you fancy a tightish game then choose 1-0, 2-0 & 2-1, the choice is yours with what scores you take.

If you want to choose 4 matches, then perming them for trebles and an accumulator is the way to go as it costs too much to put the doubles in (54 bets for the doubles).

Your trebles will come to 108 bets, 3 x 3 x 3 = 27 x 4 (that's how many trebles you have) = 108 bets and your accumulator comes to 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 = 81

So in total, it would be 189 bets, doing them for 10p would cost you £18.90, although that's quite a large amount you could be lucky if getting all 4 up.

Dutching Multiple Selections

In Ante-Post football markets or big race handicaps, you can decide your stake and then dutch a few selections to return the same amount.

I have only done 4 matches 4 times before and only once got 3 results correct, I picked 1 team from each English division and added the same scores every week for a month to trial it.

If you are unsure about anything then please drop me a message on here or through Twitter or Facebook and I will be more than happy to advise.
