2025 Deutsches Derby Preview
The German Derby, otherwise known as the Deutsches Derby takes place at the Humburg racetrack in July of each year and is the German equivalent to the Epsom Derby. This Group 1 race is restricted to three-year-old colts and fillies and was established in 1869 and given G1 status in 1972.
Owner Gestüt Schlenderhan has an incredible record in this race having won it on no fewer than nineteen occasions with the latest coming in 2020 with In Swoop, that was their first taste of success however in eleven years with Wiener Walzer (2009) being their last winner before that.
