Where is the UK Open Darts Tournament?

The Cazoo UK Open is held at the Butlins Resort in Minehead which is a coastal town in Somerset. This has been the home of this tournament since 2014 with the exception of 2021 when it was held in Milton Keynes.

UK Open Darts Format & Schedule

How does the UK Open Tournament work?

The UK Open Darts Tournament is referred to as the 'FA Cup of Darts' because all the seedings go out the window, everyone goes in a hat and can be drawn against anyone! Like the FA Cup, the 'big boys' come in at a later stage, the event starts off with one hundred and fifty eight players over the first three rounds and the top 32 players in the PDC Order of merit enter the tournament at the fourth round stage.

Who qualifies for the UK Open darts? The first three rounds are all drawn prior to the tournament, this means that players know who they could potentially face in the next round should they win. Draws for the fourth round and onwards are made as soon as the previous round is completed.

First Round

The opening round will consist of sixteen amateur players who advanced from the qualification which took place prior to the tournament, eight Challenge Tour qualifiers, eight Development tour qualifiers as well as the tour card holders who are ranked 97th to 128th. Matches are best of 11 legs.

Second Round

The thirty-two players who advanced from the first round will then be joined by the tour card holders who are ranked from 65th to 96th. Matches are best of 11 legs.

Third Round

The tour card holders who are ranked from 33rd to 64th join the tournament in the third round along with the thirty-two players advancing from round two. Matches are best of 11 legs.

Fourth Round

The 'Big Boys' join the tournament with all of the tour card holders who are ranked 1st to 32nd coming in to join the thirty-two players who successfully made it past the third round. Matches are best of 19 legs.

Prior to his darts career, he trained in mixed martial arts and was a professional wrestler.
