Harry Kane Transfer Update 2022

Newspaper reports that Manchester United will make a summer 2022 move for the Tottenham and England striker have surfaced.

The Red Devils were said to be choosing between Erling Haaland and Harry Kane as they look to compete with the likes of their noisy neighbours Manchester City and arch-rivals Liverpool.

However, Haaland is a very short price to be playing football at the Etihad next season 4/11 (1.36) so it is understandable that Kane is now their number 1 target.

If we add in that Tottenham will not be winning any silverware this season + the age of the striker (29 in July 2022) then this may be realistically the final chance of a big price move for both Kane and Tottenham.

Tottenham kept their star striker last summer  but could he move this year?

It is only speculation on how the Harry Kane transfer saga truly unfolded, what we do know is that the 28-year-old asked to leave Tottenham Hotspur.

It was expected by the reading of the betting odds that only Manchester City and possibly Manchester United were the only two teams in the running for the England strikers signature.

Kane had only signed a Spurs contract in 2018 and that was for 6 years, so wasn't due to expire until the summer of 2024, this immediately gave the North London club the upper hand.

Negotiations may have taken place between interested parties, but the Tottenham Chairman is known to play hardball in transfer dealings and may have felt that Kane was more valuable to the club than the reported 100 Million pounds fee.

Harry will now be a focal point for new manager Antonio Conte with the hope for both that Tottenham can finally achieve silverware.

Harry Kane Decides

Below is how we initially reported that Harry Kane wanted to leave White Hart Lane.

News broke that Harry Kane has decided that he wants to leave White Hart Lane.

The 27-year-old England striker has not hidden his desire to win team trophies, and it seems he feels this can only be achieved away from Tottenham Hotspur.

Bookmakers have already priced up the clubs that Kane could consider, but whoever buys such a prolific goalscorer will know that they are likely to have to break the transfer record.

There are also other issues in play, will Daniel Levy, the Tottenham Chairman, allow Kane to leave?

In 2018 Harry Kane signed a 6-year contract with the club.

There is also the valuation which is expected to be well over 100 million pounds with Kane being such a prized asset, this may deter many suitors.

That transfer figure may even rise following Kane's strong performance at the recent Euro 2020.

The fee for Kane could break the record transfer depending on how many clubs bid.

You can see the top 5 transfer fees above, I think we can say that not all worked out as well as the buying club had hoped for.
