Data based on a daily snapshot of 888Sport, bet365, Betfair, BetVictor, Paddy Power, Betfred, Betway, Ladbrokes, Marathonbet, Unibet & William Hill during October 2021

Odds were sampled for the Win Fight market from all popular events where all bookies had odds available to determine if a bookmaker had outright or joint best odds.

In many cases with boxing betting you get a very short odds on favourite against an underdog, who may or may not over some value at a double-figure price.

The aim is really to work out whether at the odds:

  1. The favourite even at the short odds is value.
  2. The underdog is worth backing because of the risk/reward ratio.

Once you have decided you then you need to ensure you back either boxer at the best odds in the betting market.

With this in mind the  Betfair Sportsbook who on many occasions will be the biggest odds on ONE of the fighters, in lots of instances they “take on the favourite” by offering bigger odds on the fav.

In a two-horse race ( we know its three if you include the draw) but in most instances we do get a  positive result, you can add up the percentages for each bookie that their price represents + work out the “overround”.

The over-round is the percentage profit the bookmaker makes whichever boxer wins. You can see below a sample bout, with the odds and the percentage those odds represent.

  • Tim Tszyu 1.25 (80.00%)
  • Dwight Ritchie 4.00 (25%)
  • Draw 17.0 (4.17%)

The over-round on this contest including the draw is 110.88% the over-round on either being a winner is 105.00%

Which bookmaker covers the most boxing events?

Bookmakers are well aware of how popular betting on boxing has become and nearly all of them offer odds on bouts.

The high profile of Fury, Macgregor and Joshua has given boxing a boost in recent years. We have never had so much choice of odds and markets.

bet365, William Hill, BetVictor, Coral, Paddy Power, 888sport, Betfair all cover a vast number of events on both Boxing and MMA/UFC.

High profile boxing which features world champions or Irish boxers gets even more coverage especially from Paddy Power, Boylesports and William Hill.

Their boxing compilers always seem to come up with some unusual markets, bonuses, and specials.

Which bookmakers offer boxing in play betting?

If it's high profile then in play betting should be available.  I like William Hill  for in-play betting on boxing.

You may have seen their Antony Joshua television advert which shows they take boxing seriously, most bookmakers lead with football but Hills went with boxing to advertise themselves.

They also often have in play specials, along with other bookies, bet 365, Betfair, Betway, and Ladbrokes,

Which bookmakers offer live boxing streaming?

Pay Per View Boxing has restricted the bookmakers boxing streaming.

The TV companies Sky, BT, Box Nation have a new revenue stream and guard it carefully.

So it will be rare to see many boxing matches at the bookies.

Boxing Betting (IE) FAQ's

  • Who is the best online bookmaker for betting on Boxing?

In Ireland look no further than Betfair for the best bookmaker forgetting on boxing. Offering generally the best odds, and a wider range of markets to choose from they are number one.

  • What bet should I make on a boxing match?

If the boxing match is very one-sided, then betting not he round in which victory will be achieved is always an option, or perhaps the method of the victory. points, KO, or TKO. often betting on the outright winner offers little value unless you fancy the underdog and a surprise to land the odds.

  • Do any bookmakers offer boxing on Live stream

It is rare to find any fight action being streamed live on an online betting site. The bigger events certainly won't be seen given pay per view tv right etc.
