Euro 2020 Spread Betting

Football spread betting can be lucrative, it can also be costly. You should always understand the risk and reward every time you place a spread bet on Sporting Index or Spreadex. The more right you are the more you can win, the more wrong you are the more you can lose.

Euro 2020 Spread Betting Opportunities and Risks

  • England favourites for Euro 2020 with Spread Betting Firms.

  • Italy to be finalists according To Sporting Index prices.

  • Denmark and Spain outsiders to make the final.

Euro 2020 Spread Betting should be on your radar if you take your football betting seriously.

Below you can view the Sporting Index Euro 2020 outright market before a ball has been kicked.

England v Italy Update
Ahead of the tournament, you could have bought England at 40 and Italy at 35, both countries are guaranteed 75 points for making the final, and one will receive 100 points.

Euro 2020 Final Betting Odds

You sell if you think a country will perform worse than the spread - and you buy if you think they will do better than the spread.

Winner = 100pts, Runner-up = 75pts, Lose Semi-Final = 50pts, Lose Quarter-Final = 25pts, Last 16 = 10pts.

Out in group or fail to reach tournament = 0

The prices will be updated daily on Sporting Index, Spreadex does a similar Euro 2020 outright market.

For example, if Turkey beat Italy in the opening game their Sell and Buy prices will increase, and the Italian Sell and Buy prices will decrease.

Let's say you decide to BUY England before the Group Stage.

If England went on to win the Euros and you had bought them at 40, you would win (100-40)= 60 x your stake, a great return.

However, if England failed to make it out of the Group Stage you would lose (0-40)=40 x your stake, a substantial loss.

You always need to be aware of how your spread bet stands so you can check your position.

Remember prices change after every game, and sometimes between games.

With spread betting the more right you are the more you can win but also the more wrong you are the more you can lose, always take care when deciding on which bets to place.

Game 1 Update:

The teams highlighted in orange have seen their Sell and Buy price increase after game 1

Italy impressed in their opening game and went from 32-35 to 36 -39 enabling a 4 point profit had you backed the Italians, you could now get out of that bet by closing it.

On the reverse, anybody who bought Denmark pre-tournament at 23 would be looking at a substantial loss as they are now at 9-12.

Knockout Stage Update:

As we go into the knockout stage all teams have 10 points having reached the last 16.

You can see their current SELL and BUY price, remember if they make the Semi-Final it is 50 points, the Final 75 points, and the Winner 100 points.

Euro 2020 Spread Betting On Individual Matches

In total, I counted around 50 outright markets + every Euro 2020 match has around 80 markets.

Every market has a SELL and BUY Option.

You SELL when you believe the outcome will be lower than the spread.

You BUY when you believe the outcome will be higher than the spread.

E.G: This is the spread on the outcome of the opening match at Euro 2020.

The Market will be settled to the following points totals:

  • Win = 25 Points
  • Draw = 10 Points
  • Loss = 0 Points
Match Sell Buy
Turkey 5 6.25
Italy 17.5 18.75

So who do you think will win the game?

Most would probably side with Italy, so let us say this was your bet and you backed the Italians to win at £2.00 a point.

Remember the market is settled at 25 for a win, a draw is 10, a loss is 0.

Result Settlement Buy Price Settlement - Buy Price Result x Stake Profit
Italy Win   25 18.75 25 -18.75 = 6.25 6.25 x £2.00 £12.50

So all looks good with your bet and you win.

Now let us look at the worst-case scenario for your Italian bet.

Result Settlement Buy Price Settlement - Buy Price Result x Stake Loss
Italy Lose 0 18.75 0 - 18.75 =18.75 18.75 x £2.00 37.50

So a terrible result for Italy and yourself and you lose.

You always have to decide at the spread prices whether to SELL or BUY, the result and your stake decide on how much you can win or lose.

What is very good about both Sporting Index and Spreadex is that they have detailed explanations on spread betting on their websites + you can contact them to ask any questions you may have.

Buy or Sell
More bettors Buy than Sell, so always consider whether the Sell Price gives you better value.

Spread Betting In Play

Looking at the same Turkey v Italy game but this time after the match has gone in play gives us further options.

The spreads change as the game unfolds, a goal for either side and the prices move appreciably.

E.G : If Italy score then their spread price will increase to around 21- 22, depending on how long is left in the game.

If Turkey score then their spread price will go to something like 14 -16, again it will depend on how many minutes are left on the clock.

At any time you can close your position whether to take your profit or cut your losses.

If the game remains goalless then the price on Italy will decrease and the price on Turkey increase, all the time giving you options to take your profit or cut your losses.

Goals, Red Cards, Injurys
The prices in play will change rapidly especially with a goal being scored, but remember injuries and red cards can also affect prices. You can trade-in and out of markets as you see fit.
