Betting odds are now given on the potential Runcorn and Helsby By-Election
Political betting markets remain popular with punters and now UK Betting Sites are offering odds on the potential Runcorn and Helsby By-Election this year.
Voters in the Runcorn and Helsby constituency have their chance at putting through a recall petition to demand a by-election after ex-Labour MP Mike Amesbury was suspended from the party.
Amesbury pleaded guilty to an altercation last month and was charged but he has since had his 10-week jail sentence suspended after appeal.
It now looks increasingly likely that there will be a By-Election in Runcorn and Helsby with William Hill giving odds on who they think will win any potential vote.
Reform UK are the clear favourites in the odds with the party sitting clear at 4/11 to be voted in, with those odds implying a 73.3% chance that they win.

Ex-Labour MP Mike Amesbury pleaded guilty to altercation with a man
Mike Amesbury was suspended from the Labour Party and subsequently resigned his membership following a late-night altercation in Frodsham, Cheshire back in October 2024.
The incident saw Amesbury repeatedly punching constituent Paul Fellows following a dispute over a local bridge closure.
Initially sentenced to 10 weeks, in which he was only meant to serve 40% of that, the sentence was suspended for two years upon appeal just three days later.
Reform UK look to have big win if By-Election happens
The expected By-Election could be the first big day for Reform UK with the party looking to step up as one of the key players in British politics.
2024's General Election polls saw Jason Moorcroft run for Reform UK in Runcorn and Helsby and finishing second in the voting with an 18.1% share of the votes.
Amesbury won with 52.9% of the votes and it's expected that it'll be Reform v Labour once again if the By-Election takes place.
