Former US President Donald Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records as his criminal trial in New York wrapped up on Thursday.

Despite the guilty verdict, bookmakers now make it heavily odds-on that Trump will not face any prison time with the latest market at 1/5 that the former president does not serve time in jail.

Trump is set to be sentenced on 11 July with a fine more likely to happen than jail time

Trump's sentencing will take place on July 11 following his 34 guilty charges on Thursday and all of those charges were the Class E felonies which are the lowest in the state of New York.

Each charge though does face a maximum four-year sentence but it is unlikely that Trump will serve any jail time if the latest betting odds are to be believed.

Justice Juan Manuel Merchan will choose the punishment on that July 11 date with a number of things going in Trump's favour for him to not head to jail such as his age and the protection that he is entitled to which would mean Secret Service agents would be in prison with him.
