England Cricketer Stuart Broad is the 6/4 favourite for the Sports Personality of the Year award

Stuart Broad is now the 6/4 favourite with UK Betting Sites to win the Sports Personality of the Year award later this year following his retirement from all forms of cricket last month.

Broad confirmed his retirement following the 4th day of the final Ashes test this year and celebrated that retirement with a cracking final bowling spell on Day 5 to help England win the game and draw the series 2-2.

Unfortunately for England that meant that Australia retained the Ashes but that hasn't stopped bookmakers from shortening Stuart Broad's odds to win the SPOTY award into 6/4.

The latest betting odds from William Hill suggest that there's a 40% chance of Broad winning the award that is voted for by the British public in December.

2023 Sports Personality of the Year Winner Odds Probability

Former favourite Frankie Dettori drifts out to 10/3 in the betting market

Frankie Dettori has been favourite for the Sports Personality of the Year award for the past couple of months now but that has changed since Broad announced his retirement.

Dettori's favouritism in the market was mainly due to a similar reason after his odds were slashed following his own retirement announcement earlier this year.

The Jockey announced that he will retire from Horse Racing at the end of this year and after announcing that was cut into 5/2 favourite for the award, but has since drifted out.
