Vienna leads the betting odds to be crowned the World's Most Liveable City in 2024

Vienna leads the way to be announced as the World’s Most Liveable City once again with this year’s assessment from the Economist Intelligence Unit expected in the next 6 weeks.

Vienna has shortened into odds-on to be voted as the Highest Ranked Global City with the latest odds from Paddy Power putting the Austrian capital as the clear favourite to top the EIU rankings once again.

The COVID-19 pandemic is the only time in which Vienna hasn’t topped the EIU’s rankings in the last decade which gives an overall score out of 100 around different outcomes such as healthcare, education and more.

It’s expected that Vienna is voted as the most liveable city once again with Copenhagen the only real contender to take the top spot off the Austrian capital according to that latest betting market.

The latest odds with bookmakers suggest a 54.5% chance that Vienna hits the top spot once again which would be no surprise considering how highly it has been ranked within the past decade by the EIU survey.

Vienna was voted most liveable city in 2023 with survey released in June last year

Four out of the last five years have seen Vienna top the EIU’s Most Liveable City score with New Zealand city Auckland the only other City that has been voted top since 2018.

Vienna was only just voted as the most liveable city in 2023 though with a score of 98.4 putting the Austrian city ahead of the Danish capital Copenhagen which had a score of 98.

Just the 0.4 score separated the top two in the tightest scoring since 2017 when Melbourne was voted ahead of Vienna by 0.1.

Australia has two cities in the Top 10 with Melbourne and Sydney sitting at third and fourth in the overall EIU rankings as we see a change once again.
