Ellie Taylor is the 9/2 favourite to be the next host of the Great British Bake Off

Comedian Ellie Taylor is the new 9/2 favourite with bookies to be the next host of Great British Bake Off after Matt Lucas left the show.

Taylor has become somewhat of a household name after her spell on Strictly Come Dancing this year so she may well fit right into the Baking series.

Betway say Taylor is the favourite in the market with an 18% chance of getting the job alongside Noel Fielding.

Next Bake Off Host Odds Probability
Ellie Taylor
9/2 18.2%
Richard Ayoade 5/1 16.7%
James Acaster 6/1 14.3%
Claudia Winkelman 7/1 12.5%
Crystelle Pereira 10/1 9.1%

Richard Ayoade has been an ever-present on Channel 4 in recent years with his Travel Man series airing on the network for 9 years.

After leaving the show last year it may well be that the actor and comedian has plenty of time available to do Bake Off next.

Ellie Taylor is now the betting favourite to be the next Bake Off presenter after becoming popular following her stint on Strictly Come Dancing in the past couple of months! Bookies now make her 9/2 to take over from the departing Matt Lucas.

Matt Lucas announced he will be leaving in a statement earlier this month

Matt Lucas announced his departure from the earlier this month in what was a shock statement with no previous rumours of his departure.

The comic said in his Twitter post that he couldn't present both Bake Off and his new show Fantasy Football League as well as doing other projects.

Thanking the production crew and Channel 4, as well as his fellow presenter Noel Fielding and the judges, Lucas's statement will have brought soggy eyes to Bake Off fans.

Former favourite Joe Lycett now nowhere to be seen in the betting

Joe Lycett was originally the favourite in the betting when Matt Lucas first left Bake Off but is now nowhere to be seen in the market.

Lycett had been tipped to replace Lucas with their humour fairly similar meaning it would be a straight forward replacement that's made.

The comedian was the 7/2 favourite according to Ladbrokes who gave him a 22.2% chance of taking over from fellow comedian Lucas.
