Full Bethard Bookmaker Review

BetHard has earned praise from both users and the OLBG review team for its strong football betting coverage, bolstered by an excellent in-play betting feature. Niche sports are also well-supported, with plenty of odds boosts and promotions adding further appeal.

Verification at BetHard is rated very easy, with more than seven payment methods available; the fastest payout is via PayPal or debit cards, often processed instantly, and customer support operates through multiple channels.

Fully licensed to operate in Ireland with license number 1018155, BetHard maintains a medium level of fund protection.

This review of BetHard is based on what really matters. Performance, value, and usability. I’ve tested its features firsthand, and the in-play football betting is a clear standout: fast, reliable, and built for punters who know the game. If you’re looking for great live odds and a smooth, responsive platform, BetHard ticks the boxes.

Advantages and Disadvantages

All explained in greater detail in this review, these pros and cons allow users to scan and understand where the strengths lie quickly.

First Impression of BetHard

Pros

  • Nice pre-made Bet Builders
  • Great odds across multiple sports.

Cons

  • Limited number of sports to bet on.

Live Betting

From the homepage, just go from “SPORTS” to “IN PLAY” in from the main menu and you’ll have all the live markets at your fingertips. There is a menu with all the sports with open markets, and the selection here is decent enough, with major sports covered – football, basketball, tennis etc. There’s decent stats and in-play graphics for the football if you’re following along in real time, and the odds look good enough.

Live Streaming

BetHard offers no live streaming at the time of review.

Betting Odds

Comparing BetHard’s odds to other bookies across the industry, as well as checking some comparison sites, BetHard is pretty much as you’d expect – neither incredible, nor disappointing. We checked tennis, football and basketball for in-play odds, plus horse racing, and cricket for pre-match and antepost odds. There’s nothing that jumps out as incredible, but most odds, regardless of sport, are nice enough. When compared to some of the market heavyweights – bet365, Ladbrokes, William Hill etc. – it absolutely competes with them.

⚽ Football Betting

We rank every bookie, at every sport, and BetHard is just a fraction off our best football betting sites, but it’s still very good. There’s plenty to bet on, lots of in-play markets and competitions covered which is all great to see. On top of that, as mentioned above, the odds are very competitive. There’s a good bet builder function (across lots of sports, not just football) and for straightforward betting there’s plenty here. On the downside there’s no live streaming, or much in the way of promotions or price boosts, and that, along with the enormous event coverage that some other bookies can boast, is why it doesn’t quite make our top 10.

Bet Builder

BetHard has a bet builder function, and it’s fine, but could be improved if I’m being totally honest. I’d say it’s about mid-level, and would definitely be better if there were some more markets to add into individual bet builders. That said, these may increase the closer we get to kick-off for each game.

Bonuses

There are a few bits here but nothing out of the ordinary. There are some odds boost for selected markets but there aren’t as many as you’d find at some other bookies. I can’t see anything in the way of acca insurance, substitution guarantee or cash back type offers.

Cash Out

Cash out is a very important betting feature for punters these days so it's crucial that bookies integrate this feature into their mobile betting apps. BetHard have done this well, allowing their customers to instantly cash out their bets on any device they like.

🏇 Horse Racing

The horse racing at BetHard is pretty good. The layout displays all the information that you need, and that you’d expect from a good racing bookie. The odds are right where you want and there’s a choice between Winner, Forecast and Tricast markets. BetHard displays odds changes from the day and markets for meets and courses far beyond just the UK and Ireland, including Argentina, South Africa and the United States. There is live streaming, but on the downside there are no tips and no Best Odds Guaranteed, but it’s quite a solid offering overall. This isn’t bad at all, and you can see how they compare to our best horse racing betting sites.

🇺🇸 US Sports Betting

A full range of American Sports is available, including all the major leagues, plus college games and the same sports across the globe.

🏈 American Football Betting

The American football betting at BetHard is okay. In terms of product design, it’s a little bit basic – there is the moneyline, spread and total markets all listed on the main page, but the spread is called “Asian Handicap” which always jars with American sports. Unfortunately there are no outrights listed, and a lot of things are things missing here. There’s nothing when it comes to player props, and in terms of outrights, nothing in the way of player markets again, so no MVP odds, Defensive Player of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year and so on. In conclusion, it starts well, but tapers off a bit the longer you’re there. It’s worth checking out our best NFL betting sites to see how BetHard compares.

🏀 Basketball Betting

BetHard has a pretty standard selection of basketball leagues to bet on, there are hundreds and hundreds of competitions. There’s obviously the NBA, but BetHard covers someEuroLeague and domestic world competitions, but it's not loads. There are plenty of markets per game, with game, team and player markets covered impressively in the WNBA, for example, with a fantastic range of markets – match, halves/quarters, points, player probs on points, rebounds, assists etc. – but the event coverage is lacking compared to others. You can also compare BetHard to the best basketball betting sites.

⚾ Baseball Betting

BetHard obviously covers the MLB, but they also have markets for the Japanese and Korean leagues. The markets, and the odds, especially on the outrights, look pretty good. The MLB season is well underway and there are loads of things we should be able to bet on, including individual awards, which aren’t represented here unfortunately, but the number of markets per game is good enough. Keep tabs on the top baseball betting sites though, to see why they make it onto our list.

🏒 Ice Hockey Betting

The NHL takes up the bulk of space here, as expected. But there are also some Australian, Finnish and German fixtures included, among others. I selected an upcoming NHL game and there are loads of markets listed – more than pretty much anywhere else. For the smaller leagues that reduces a bit more, which is understandable.

🐕 Greyhound Betting

This isn’t bad, although we’ve already mentioned that BetHard doesn’t have Best Odds Guaranteed, so it may struggle to attract punters for greyhounds specifically given how many other bookies do, but it does offer live streaming. Beyond that there markets for all races today in the UK and Ireland (12 different courses today, for example), with Winner, Trap Winner and Forecast options available. It’s pretty solid, without being anything more than that, and a bit off the best greyhound betting sites.

🎯 Darts Betting

Matthew Edgar

BetHard does some very good things here, compared to other darts betting sites in the UK. The outrights on future events are great, and once you click through to the match ups the number of markets is probably more than most. Most major competitions are covered – there’s outright markets on the World Championships, despite it being a bit off – and each match has markets for result, legs, checkouts and handicaps. I also really like the addition of the Match Treble (player to win match, hit the most 180s and score the highest checkout).

Snooker Betting

BetHard offers a pretty basic package. There isn’t much going on at the time of review, with the Wuhan Open going on right now, and so there are some odds for this. Each game is done properly, with some handicap and frame markets in addition to the result. Unfortunately, this is where it comes to an end. At any decent snooker betting site I’d expect to see outright markets for the World Championships, Masters and UK Championship no matter what time of year, or at the very least just the World Championships.

🏉 Rugby Betting (Union & League)

By Luke Bradshaw Lee - BetHard splits union and league into different categories which, I think, makes sense. For both, there is pretty much every competition that you’d want to be included here, which is really good to see. The one omission to that is the Japanese domestic league (in Union), but that’s being very nit-picky, because overall the coverage of competitions is fantastic. Definitely for NRL games in rugby league there are loads of markets per match. For both, however, there aren’t any player markets, such a tryscorer, or points scorer.

🏏 Cricket Betting

BetHard's cricket offering is fine, but I’d be surprised if regular cricket bettors regularly come here. There’s enough in the way of events covered, with Test matches, ODIs and some IPL odds, with outrights for all. At the time of review, for an ODI between England and the West Indies, there is a nice number of markets and the odds are good enough, but there is definitely a lack of events covered. Also, for some upcoming Test matches this weekend there isn’t nearly enough by the way of markets, with no player markets at all. This may change later in the week, admittedly.

We list the best cricket betting sites.

🎾 Tennis Betting

By James Banting - At the time of review their tennis section there are loads of different tennis markets to bet on, which is great. These games obviously cover the world, with the Grand Slams right down to smaller Challenger events. The odds are good, and there’s plenty of markets, and that includes in-play markets. There’s no live streaming, and nothing in the way of stats, which is a bit disappointing given a lot of bookies have these things as standard for tennis especially. On top of that, the live betting doesn’t feel as fast as others where you can get markets on literally the next point, whereas here it’s limited to game betting, as well as set and match betting.

See if they make it into the top tennis betting sites on OLBG.

🏌️ Golf Betting

By James Banting - BetHard’s golf offering is about par for the course I reckon. There are futures markets on all the majors (including the Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup), and there is a selection, around six or seven, of upcoming tournaments of varying importance. Yes, you’ll find a bit more at some other bookies – and it’s worth checking our best golf betting sites to see how SBetHard compares – but generally this is fine.

🏎️ Motorsports Betting

Expert Guide

The motor sports here are okay. Everything is it’s own thing, rather than housed under a “motor sports” banner, but I can see Formula 1, obviously, on top of Speedway and Indy racing. There’s nothing in the way of bikes, such as MotoGP, or any NASCAR, which is a little annoying, especially when something as niche as stock car racing is included. Overall I am impressed with the detail in the Formula 1 markets, and if I ever choose to make a stock car bet I know where to come.

🥊 Boxing Betting

Frank Monkhouse

- Your Boxing Betting Guide 👍

There’s lots of boxing bouts to get stuck into here, and the markets look dependent on timings. Those this weekend and over the next few weeks have an okay offering, whereas the further away they get the less markets on offer. That’s understandable, and I wouldn’t expect to find round by round and the like for fights that are months away, but I would definitely like more options for big bouts this weekend, and that’s definitely limited based on my experience with BetHard.

Other Sports Betting

This is very limited from BetHard. There are some Aussie Rules, handball and volleyball, but nothing in the way of TV betting, and the same goes for political betting, or esports.

Account Opening Process

A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen BetHard has their “Register” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]

The BetHard app is probably the best part of its product. It does exactly what you want and that is not to feel too far removed when you switch from one device to the next, but also being product-led, and designed to suit its purpose more than a decent mobile version.

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to BetHard I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which was very indeed.

Managing your account

As mentioned above, the design really helps this along. On the desktop version, it’s stuff to the  left of the screen. On the app, it’s all at the bottom, with just the login at the top. I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like BetHard has got this part nailed.

BetHard Responsible Gambling Features

As with all online betting companies, responsible gambling should be and will be an essential element of the service provided.

Expect KYC procedures and document supply as a matter-of-course, to confirm your account after you have deposited a certain level of funds and in the event of any large wins.

You can set limits for yourself across depositing options and daily staking options too, so you can set your levels and keep control of your gambling.

Expect BetHard to contact you via your preferred communication method if there are suspicious activities on your account. This protects your account from being accessed by someone other than you and ensures you control your gambling activity. BetHard have a legal obligation to question your activity if they believe it to be suspicious.
