Kia EV9 is odds-on to win the Car of the Year at the 2024 World Car Awards

The Kia EV9 is the odds-on favourite to win the 2024 Car of the Year with bookies offering full odds on the three contenders for the award this year.

The 2024 World Car Awards take place this week and the Car of the Year category has been whittled down to the final three nominees with the Kia EV9 1/2 for the award.

Second favourite is the Volvo EX30 which is currently 6/4 in the betting market with the third favourite the BYD Seal/Atto 4 which sits at 2/1 in the odds.

All three cars are electric which is unsurprising given the way the car industry now looks with electric cars coming more and more into the landscape of vehicles now.

Awards show set to take place on 27 March at the New York Motor Show

All of this year's World Car award winners will be announced at the New York International Auto Show on 27 March and we will see who will be crowned Car of the Year then.

2024 crowns 20 years of the World Car Awards and it's not just Car of the Year that is crowned with World Car Person of the Year also a massive category that has already been announced.

Adrian Newey, Chief Technical Officer of Red Bull Racing, is the designer of the RB19, which is the most dominant race car in the history of Formula One.

Newey was crowned Person of the Year due his dominant performance in his roll as Chief Technical Officer and he shows no signs of stopping in his role yet.

The Chevrolet Full-Size Pickup is evens favourite to be the most stolen car across the USA in 2024 with previous stats showing the model was the most stolen car across the USA in 2023.

Bookies say there's a 50% chance that it will be the Chevrolet once again that is most stolen with the Ford equivalent just behind in the market with a 40% chance.

Stats from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) say that more than $8 billion worth of cars are stolen every year in the USA.
