Paul Merson leads the dreaded market to be the first celebrity eliminated from this year's Strictly Come Dancing
We're now just one day away from the first live show of Strictly Come Dancing 2024 and odds are now being offered by UK Betting Sites around who will be the first celebrity eliminated from the show this series.
The opening weekend of the show sees every couple dance but we won't see an elimination with that being saved for Week 2, but bookies are still giving odds on who will leave first.
Former Arsenal player turned Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson is the 11/8 favourite to be the first celebrity eliminated after his showing in the group dance in the launch show saw his odds shorten.
Merson has openly said he feels he has no chance of winning, even saying that he had more chance of winning the show than Spurs winning a trophy this season after last weekend's North London Derby.
William Hill's latest market puts him ahead of Nick Knowles to be the first celebrity to leave the show, with the odds giving an implied probability of 42.1% that he is the first out.
Strictly Come Dancing 2024 First Eliminated | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Paul Merson | 11/8 | 42.1% |
Nick Knowles | 7/2 | 22.2% |
Punam Krishan | 13/2 | 13.3% |
Wynne Evans | 15/2 | 11.8% |
Toyah Wilcox | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Tom Dean | 9/1 | 10.0% |
What the expert says...
JB Gill remains favourite to win the show after he was paired with popular dancer Amy Dowden
JLS star JB Gill is the betting favourite to win this year's Strictly after his odds were slashed from 10/1 into 10/3 following the launch show episode last weekend.
Gill was seen being paired with popular professional Amy Dowden on the launch show and fans were instantly showing early praise for the pair after the group dance.
Bookies saw a surge in bets placed in the duo too seeing JB shorten into the 10/3 that he currently sits at the win the show this year.
