Matt Taylor was sacked by Rotherham earlier this month

Rotherham United decided to sack Matt Taylor last Monday after a 5-0 loss to Watford at the weekend saw the club left in 22nd in the Championship.

Taylor had been at the club as manager for 13 months after leaving Exeter City but a poor start to the campaign has seen the club remain at the lower end of the table throughout the season.

Millers chairman Tony Stewart said in the club's statement that he "felt by myself and the board that we had to act now by making a managerial change in order to give ourselves the best possible chance of retaining our Championship status this season."

The Millers are 1/6 to be relegated from Championship this season

The Millers are now the clear favourites to be relegated this season despite the club not being bottom of the Championship with two sides sat below them.

Both QPR and Sheffield Wednesday have larger odds to go down to League One this year even though they sit on 10 and 6 points respectively so far.

Rotherham are 4 points off safety and need a good run now throughout the festive period to try and kickstart their season, hopefully for them under a new manager.
