Gary Rowett left the club after 4 years in charge on Thursday

Millwall announced on Wednesday evening that Gary Rowett had left the club by mutual consent with the club currently sat in 15th place in the Championship.

Despite a tough start to the season they are only 3 points off the play-off places and whoever the new manager is that comes in will have a good squad to deal with.

Rowett added in his statement, “I have thoroughly enjoyed being manager of Millwall and depart with a feeling that the club has progressed during my tenure. As is sometimes the case in football, the time just feels right to part ways."

Millwall now 12/1 to be relegated this season

Following a start to the season which has seen Millwall win 4 of their first 11 games, the Lions are now 12/1 to be relegated from the Championship this season.

It's not all doom and gloom though with Millwall sitting just three points off the play-offs and five points above the relegation zone so they're actually closer to the play-off spots.

Despite that though their odds have been slashed to be relegated this season with the latest odds now suggesting a 7% chance of them going down this campaign.
