Henry Cavill is now 5/4 to be the next James Bond after it was announced the actor would be leaving The Witcher after season three
Henry Cavill is the new favourite with bookmakers at 5/4 to be the next James Bond after rumours intensified following the announcement that he would be leaving The Witcher.
Cavill was the star of the Netflix series but his departure has started rumours that a big role may be on the way for him that has left him having to decide what to do next.
William Hill have instantly made Cavill the 5/4 favourite to be the next Bond and that could well be why he's left The Witcher to take on the role as the famous spy.
Next James Bond | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Henry Cavill | 5/4 | 44.4% |
Regé-Jean Page | 7/2 | 22.2% |
Tom Hardy | 6/1 | 14.3% |
James Norton | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Chiwetel Ejiofor | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Jack Lowden | 7/1 | 12.5% |
Richard Madden | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Chiwetel Ejiofor is the latest addition towards the top of the betting market at odds of 6/1 to take over as the next James Bond.
At 45 though Ejiofor may be too old for Bond producers to take over from Daniel Craig as 007.
Henry Cavill leaving The Witcher may well have prompted bookies to slash the odds on him taking over as 007 next with the betting odds now giving him a 44% chance of being the next Bond!

Jack Lowden was the biggest market mover in the Next James Bond market previously
Scottish actor Jack Lowden was the big market mover in the next James Bond market with bookies making him 7/1 from 28/1 to be the famous spy next.
Bond producers recently said they want a '30-something' year old to be the next 007 and Lowden fits the bill perfectly at the age of 32.
William Hill dropped his odds from 28/1 to just 7/1 now in the market but he is still 6th favourite in the betting market to take over from Daniel Craig.

Regé-Jean Page remains around the top of the betting market
Bridgerton actor Regé-Jean Page has been favourite previously including being as short as 2/1 in September last year but has drifted slightly to 7/2 to be the next Bond now.
Page has a 22.2% chance of being the next Bond according to the betting odds compared to the 33% chance he had last year but the market is ever changing.
The London born actor also fits the 30-something criteria that the Bond producers have seemingly given the latest actor for the role at the age of 34.
Regé-Jean Page has been the favourite to be the next Bond on multiple occasions but bookmakers now make him 7/2 behind Cavill to get the famous role next.
