Henry Cavill is once again favourite to be James Bond with his odds currently sat at 2/1

Henry Cavill has moved back into favourite with UK Betting Sites to be the next James Bond with his odds moving into 2/1 to play the famous role next following Daniel Craig's departure.

Cavill has starred in roles such as The Witcher and Superman in recent years and it may be that Bond will be the next big job that Cavill gets with his odds now tumbling once again.

The latest betting odds suggest there's a 33% chance that Cavill is picked to play James Bond with the British actor linked with playing the secret agent in the past.

The same names feature in the betting market once more with Cavill followed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and James Norton who have both been favourites for Bond in the past.

Former favourite Aaron Taylor-Johnson is close second favourite in the market

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has long been favourite for the role of Bond ever since reports that he had a secret screen test for the role towards the back end of last year.

This has seen certain betting sites keep him as favourite throughout the past 12 months but some bookmakers have moved his spot up and down consistently in the year.

Taylor-Johnson is now second favourite to play Bond with the latest betting odds suggesting there's a 26% chance that he stars in the role next.

Further Bond specials were available at the start of the year around streaming

There were odds presented in February concerning the possibility of the Bond franchise exclusively transitioning to streaming in 2023 with streaming growing more and more in recent years.

These betting odds indicated a 22% probability that James Bond films might become exclusively available through streaming platforms in the foreseeable future. 

This speculation was partly fuelled by a recent period during which Bond movies were available on Amazon Prime Video, potentially foreshadowing such a move.

Betway provided a reasonable chance that the franchise might make the shift towards streaming-only distribution with odds of 7/2 but it's likely that the ultimate decision will hinge on Box Office performance, as these figures remain crucial to the continued production of Bond films.
