Bookies give odds of 7/2 that the James Bond franchise goes to streaming only

With the movie viewing market changing constantly, bookies are already giving streaming special odds for 2023 including one of the most beloved franchises going streaming only.

The latest betting odds say there's a 22% chance that James Bond will be streaming only going forward with the movies having a spell on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year.

At odds of 7/2, Betway say there's a decent chance that the franchise goes to streaming only but it may need Box Office figures to keep making the films.

As of December 2022 there are no hints about when the next James Bond film will be released and we're no closer to seeing who the next Bond will be.

Bookies make it 7/2 that we see the James Bond franchise go straight to streaming in future with more films being released on streaming platforms. Amazon had a spell earlier this year where they had EVERY Bond movie available as part of their Prime Video service.

Henry Cavill has now gone into favourite to be the next Bond

With Henry Cavill leaving both The Witcher and Superman it leaves the actor without two of the biggest roles that he has performed as.

The British actor has been linked with the James Bond role in the past and the stars may well have aligned for him to slot into the 007 role.

William Hill now make Cavill the 2/1 joint favourite alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson who had recently been backed into favourite for James Bond.

Next James Bond Odds Probability
Henry Cavill 2/1 33.3%
Aaron Taylor-Johnson
2/1 33.3%
Tom Hardy 6/1 14.3%
Regé-Jean Page
8/1 11.1%
James Norton 10/1 9.1%
Chiwetel Ejiofor
10/1 9.1%
Dan Stevens 12/1 7.7%

Other specials include any straight to streaming movie to win Best Picture at the Oscars

There are further streaming specials around 2023 including any straight to streaming film to win Best Picture at the Oscars at evens.

CODA became the first ever streaming movie to win the Best Picture award at last year's Oscars with the film being streamed on Apple TV+.

Bookies give odds of evens that it happens again this year, with those odds suggesting there's a 50% chance of it happening again.

Movies Streaming Specials 2023 Odds Probability
Any straight to streaming film to win Best Picture Oscar 1/1 50%
James Bond  - To move all future films to streaming only 7/2 22.2%
DC Franchise - To move all future films to streaming only 8/1 11.1%
Disney - To move all future films to streaming only 10/1 9.1%
Marvel - To move all future films to streaming only 16/1 5.9%

Other specials look at specific franchises putting their future releases straight to streaming only and it's something that we've seen happen more in the past.

Disney have been releasing their movies in cinemas and on their Disney+ service for a fee in recent years and we may see that continue.

It's evens that a movie follows CODA's footsteps and becomes the second straight to streaming movie to win Best Picture at the Oscars.
