Aaron Taylor-Johnson has reportedly been confirmed as the next James Bond actor

Reports on Tuesday from The Sun now say that Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been chosen to play James Bond next by the movie's bosses with the British actor due to sign up in the coming weeks.

Industry insiders say that Eon Productions, the company that makes the James Bond films, are well on track to begin shooting the next Bond movie at some point in 2024.

Those reports from The Sun say that, “As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”

Taylor-Johnson was the betting favourite at 15/8 at the end of February and it looks like those odds were right at the time with the British actor all but confirmed for the role.

OLBG's previous report gave a 34% chance of Taylor-Johnson getting the role and today that looks like it is confirmed with various news sources now reporting that he will be Bond.

Christopher Nolan remains the 5/2 favourite to be the next James Bond Director

Christopher Nolan remains at the top of the betting market to direct the next James Bond movie despite saying towards the back end of last year that there was no truth to rumours of him directing.

Nolan told The Associated Press while promoting Oppenheimer last year that "sadly" he would not be directing the next films in the franchise.

Paddy Power have kept Nolan as the 5/2 favourite still though with reports last year from World of Reel saying that he had signed on to direct two Bond films as well as writing them both.

What the expert says...

Christopher Nolan remains the clear favourite to direct the next Bond despite telling reporters that sadly the news was untrue that he would be doing so! Nolan has directed Aaron Taylor-Johnson before on Tenet and he could do so again in James Bond.
