The Pogues odds now slashed into 1/6 to get this year's Christmas Number One
Bookmakers have now cut The Pogues odds to get this year's Christmas Number One following the sad passing of frontman Shane MacGowan earlier this week.
The Pogues had already moved into favourites to get the number one after reports of MacGowan's illness back in November and the announcement of his death instantly saw a flurry of bets placed for Number One.
Fairytale of New York is one of the big songs of the festive period and the big song that the band are known for and it'll be all over the airwaves this Christmas.
UK Betting Sites latest odds now suggest there's an 85% chance of The Pogues hitting the top spot this Christmas with a massive lead in the latest betting market.
