100 Spin Test

This 100 Spin test was updated by Steve Madgwick on 18/10/2023

100 spins is not a Real Test

We give every slot a 100 spin test to see just what it can do, or not as the case can often be - 100 spins is no reflection of the likelihood of any other 100-spin session, as RTP's are set over many millions and probably billions of spins. So this 100 spin test is just for entertainment and insight purposes

Test Comments

I don;t mind a stack em game from Hacksaw, but wondered how Benny the beer could be different, well, the 'Book Game' style bonus round was one, and the expanding and multiplying wilds were another and I got to experience both in this test run

The test produced a profit, returning a 143.9% RTP for the session, which was contributed by a very high win frequency of 40 winning spins from the 100, averaging out at 3.59x per win, with a base game win of 56x very welcome, and even a very average 22.9x bonus game win also adding in.

Overall, the action is fast and furious, and hacksaw have done an excellent job in my mind - Over to Jenny, with the full details and complete review

Game Data

We’re told by Hackaw Gaming that ‘something is brewing in the Biergarten’ (or beer garden if you prefer). It looks like fun if the imagery and forest setting are anything to go by. The colours and creatives used for this game are so warm and inviting, who wouldn’t want to join the party?

Besides the Stackways Feature mentioned above there are 2 great free spins rounds available. Here pay symbols are randomly selected to be Special Symbols and if these trigger on the reels they will stack up to potentially big wins.

Right, let’s get started with my in-depth Benny the Beer slot review. I’ve got lots to share with you regarding this exciting release.

Graphics, Music, and Sound Effects

One of my initial thoughts when playing this game was that it gives off strong Autumnal vibes. The background graphic shows a forest with leaves starting to fall from the trees, hinting that Autumn is just around the corner. When you flip between the Free Spins rounds and the base game the scenes switch around in a haze of twirling Autumn leaves. The graphics used by the designer have a 1970s feel and the reel illustrations are made up of warm colours in shades of blue, purple, green and orange.

The jolly, upbeat music sounds like a traditional marching band which suits the setting perfectly. The sound effects include a xylophone, piano tunes and the refreshing fresh sound of a glass being filled up with cold beer.

Theme – Beer

I've stated above that the theme is about beer for simplicity's sake but really it’s much more than that. A more realistic theme title would be - a 1970s-style beer picnic in the forest - but it doesn’t quite have the same ring does it?

The colours used within the game’s design look like they’ve jumped straight out of a classic 70s interior design book. Expect lots of oranges and earthy hues including avocado green and shades of browns.

On the reel imagery, you’ll discover further 1970s imagery and fonts. I can imagine seeing some of the reel’s characters emblazoned on the front of a retro t-shirt. Alongside some funky bell bottoms and platform shoes to complete the look. In order of highest value, the character symbols are a beer, a bomb, a camera, an alarm clock, and a padlock and key. You’ll find the usual standard symbols of J, Q, K & A in vintage-style illustrations.

Reels

Benny the Beer is a slot game with a classic 5-reel and 4-row setup.

Paylines

When the 10 Stackways Featire is triggered you can stack up your reels with up to 10 symbols per reel. This means that there are a staggering 100,000 potential paylines which adds up to more ways of winning.

RTP

I’m including here a description of the acronym RTP which means return to player. You’ll see this on all slots sites. It’s a way of telling players theoretically what percentage of their slots will be returned to them over the long term. The figure is usually somewhere between  94% and 96%. Benny the Beer slightly exceeds this figure at 96.17%.

Hacksaw Gaming, like many slot providers, offers operators a range of RTP rates so if you shop around you’ll find rates between 92.28% and 96.17%. We’ve identified a few Benny the Beer RTPs from some of the top UK online casinos and added these sites to our table below.

When deciding where to play there are a few factors to think about including payment options, game library, customer support and welcome bonuses and deals. Take a look at our casino reviews which analyse these factors and much more.

Stake Range

When playing the Benny the Beer slot game you’ll find a wide bet range which starts at £0.10 and goes right up to £100.

Max Win

You’ll find a decent max win amount for this game which is 10,000x your total stake.

Free Spins

There are 2 free spins bonus rounds to play with for the Benny the Beer slot game. Firstly, there is the Book of Stackways. If you land 3 FS Scatter Symbols in the base game you’ll receive 10 Free Spins. At the start of the Book of Stackways bonus you’ll see 2 pay symbols randomly selected to represent the ‘Special Symbols’. Should either of these land across 3 or more reels, they will stack up to 10 rows high in classic Book fashion.  You can see the 2 Special Symbols at the top of the screen once they are triggered. Re-triggers are possible during this round too. If you land 2 FS Symbols you get an extra 2 spins and 3 symbols give you 4 more. If you land 4 FS Symbols you’ll upgrade to the next Free Spins level entitled the Super Book of Stackways.

As mentioned above, the Super Book of Stackways is triggered by landing 4 FS Scatter Symbols. At the start of this round 4 pay symbols will be randomly chosen to be the Special Symbols. If any of these land across at least 3 reels they will stack up to as high as 10 rows high.

Jackpot

Like the majority of modern-day slot games, there is no jackpot element within the Benny the Beer slot game. If jackpot games are your bag you should check out our page with the best jackpot slot games.

Play Experience & First Impressions

Immediately after launching the game for the first time I was a fan of the graphics but I wasn't sure where the beer theme would lead to. However, I’m happy to report that the entire setting ties together seamlessly to create a warm and fuzzy retro beer-fest story.

The features are the primary pull of any slot game and the Benny the Beer features are excellent, straightforward and seemed to trigger pretty frequently during my testing. This matched with the medium volatility rating of the game. Visually the 10 Stackways Feature looked fantastic on the reels and worked well with the theme of filling up the glass of beer. It’s fun and can bring in some decent wins as 10 is a whole heap of matching symbols! It's great to think that there are 100,000 winning combos available from this.

The 2 Free Spins rounds offered something different in the way of randomly naming the Special Symbols at the start of the round. It was fun not knowing what was about to come up and then looking out for these symbols after every spin. Having 4 symbols for the Super Book of Stackways was the cherry on the top as there were even more chances.

Expert Verdict

As I write this review in October, I’m looking out of my office window and the leaves are turning to shades of yellow, burnt orange and red. Benny the Beer suits the mood outside perfectly as its visuals are a sight to behold. I review oodles of slot games so I really appreciate something different and this game ticks the box on that score. The features are excellent and I loved the retro imagery, cute characters and storyline of this game. You can see it’s Hacksaw Gaming straight away from the style of the game, they are so artistic. The warm colours and inviting atmosphere have created a cosy, immersive slot experience.

Hacksaw Gaming are producing some top-tier slot games at the moment. Recently I've reviewed Densho and Chaos Crew 2 both of which are fantastic. The 10 Stackways Feature and the Free Spins were so enjoyable and importantly, I had a few wins when playing. This combined with the fact that this is a medium volatility game makes for a great mix. The max win at 10,000x is decent, to sum up, there are oodles of positives for this fantastic game.

I definitely recommend trying out Benny the Beer. For sure, I’ll be playing again very soon as it was such a charming game -  whatever the season.
