England are 4/1 to win the Euro's this month ahead of their opener against Austria tonight
England are set to take on Austria in the opening game of the 2022 Women's European Championship this evening at Old Trafford.
The host country are 4/1 to win the tournament, with Spain the current favourites at 7/2 with bookies to be the Champions.
Spain though will be without Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas after an ACL injury in training earlier this week ruled her out of the Euro's.
Women's Euro 2022 Winners | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Spain | 7/2 | 22.2% |
England | 4/1 | 20.0% |
France | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Netherlands | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Sweden | 7/1 | 12.5% |
The Netherlands won the Euros last time it was held back in 2017 but they are joint third favourites to win the competition this time around.
England beat the Netherlands 5-1 in a warm up game last month and that will give them confidence going into the tournament.
Striker Ellen White is the favourite to be top goalscorer at the tournament
England forward Ellen White is the 6/1 favourite to be top scorer at this year's Women's Euro 2022 tournament.
White had a bout of Covid just a fortnight ago but England boss Sarina Wiegman will be hoping that she'll be back to full fitness to fire her team to the Final later this month.
Germany's Lea Schüller is the joint second favourite in the market at 10/1 alongside Netherlands and Arsenal forward Vivianne Miedema.
Women's Euro 2022 Top Scorer | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Ellen White (England) | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Lea Schüller (Germany) | 10/1 | 9.1% |
Vivianne Miedema (Netherlands)
|
10/1 | 9.1% |
Marie-Antoinette Katoto (France)
|
11/1 | 8.3% |
Beth Mead (England) | 11/1 | 8.3% |
Beth Mead is another England player featuring in the top 5 of the betting market and she scored a brace in the 5-1 victory over Netherlands last month.
If Ellen White struggles to get to full fitness after Covid then Mead may well be a starter for England in the first few games of the tournament.
Rachel Yankee talks more about England's chances for the Euro's
In an exclusive interview with OLBG, former player Rachel Yankee spoke about England's chances at this month's tournament.
"It's a difficult one to predict and look at because we've got a very talented squad.
"The fact that Sarina Wiegman is quite new to the team, then you can look at it as sort of a building block towards the World Cup.
"Perhaps we shouldn't put too much expectation on the team, but then again what the teams been able to do in previous years means there will be expectations.
"The fact that it's a home Euros means there's a bit of pressure there.
"They've got to be up there as one of the favourites for this tournament."
