Bookies now make Labour as short as 1/10 to win this week's Wellingborough By-Election
Labour remain the clear favourites to win the Wellingborough By-Election with bookmakers continuing to offer betting odds on this week's by-election.
Wellingborough goes to the polls this Thursday and it's Labour who are the heavy favourites at 1/10 to be voted in with the market changing once again.
Labour were as short as 1/7 last month and they're now even shorter at 1/10 to win the Wellingborough by-election with Gen Kitchen the candidate for the party.
Conservatives were the sole second favourites in the market back in January but the latest betting odds has now seen their odds drift out with Reform UK moving alongside as second favourites with William Hill.
Wellingborough By-Election Winner | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Labour | 1/10 | 90.9% |
Reform UK | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Conservatives | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Liberal Democrats | 100/1 | 1.0% |
Greens | 100/1 | 1.0% |
MP Peter Bone was suspended due to allegations of bullying and harassment
Peter Bone was suspended from the Commons for six weeks when an investigation discovered that he had bullied staff and also was sexually inappropriate.
Several allegations were found by the commissioner including verbal bullying and sexual misconduct including indecent exposure.
The Government's full presentation was published last year and the full reading's are available on their website here.
This caused a by-election to be called in the Wellingborough constituency due to a recall petition being prompted following that suspension.

By-Election also taking place in Kingswood this Thursday with Labour also favourites there
Kingswood is also up for a By-Election on Thursday after the resignation of the Conservative MP Chris Skidmore who stepped down in protest with the Government's proposals around North Sea oil and gas drilling.
It looks increasingly likely that this will be another constituency in which Labour will take over a seat from the Conservatives with the odds putting the party as favourites.
Labour are 1/12 to win this seat with their candidate Damien Egan impressing during his campaign run for the seat.
Kingswood By-Election Winner | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Labour | 1/12 | 92.3% |
Conservatives | 7/1 | 12.5% |
Reform UK | 25/1 | 3.8% |
Liberal Democrats | 100/1 | 1.0% |
Greens | 250/1 | 0.4% |
