Erik ten Hag could well stay on beyond the summer though with his position unclear

Current Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag could stay in charge of the club beyond the summer window with Sir Jim Ratcliffe expected to make big decisions this summer.

INEOS director of sport Sir Dave Brailsford is reportedly in the midst of an audit of the club's football operations following Ratfcliffe's 27.7% stake of the club being accepted.

Ten Hag will know he is under pressure with the club's form inconsistent and it's expected that a final decision hasn't been made yet with United's 4-3 win in the FA Cup over Liverpool helping his situation.
