Chris Wilder is the 2/1 favourite to become the next Huddersfield Town boss
Bookies have made Chris Wilder the 2/1 favourite to be the next Huddersfield Town manager after Mark Fotheringham's sacking earlier this week.
Wilder had been linked with the vacant Aberdeen manager's job in recent days and was reported to have turned down the role following discussions with bosses.
BetVictor now say that Wilder has a 33% chance of becoming the next Huddersfield Town manager and that may have been part of the reason why he rejected the Aberdeen role.
Next Huddersfield Town Manager | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Chris Wilder | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Narcis Pelach | 3/1 | 25.0% |
Neil Warnock | 3/1 | 25.0% |
Leam Richardson | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Dean Holden | 12/1 | 7.7% |
Neil Warnock also features in the betting market at 3/1 despite being retired since last year from football management.
Warnock was linked with the Cardiff job last month but played down the rumours saying he wasn't coming out of retirement but a job in Yorkshire may tempt him.
Chris Wilder is now the 2/1 favourite to become the next Huddersfield Town manager with his odds shortening from 4/1 on Friday morning!

Narcis Pelach is the 3/1 second favourite to turn his interim position into a full-time role at Huddersfield
Narcis Pelach is the 3/1 joint second favourite to be the next Huddersfield Town boss after he took over as interim manager for the second time this season following Mark Fotheringham's sacking.
Fotheringham had failed to win again in the midweek against 10-man Blackpool and this was the final straw for Terriers bosses who relieved the manager of his duties straight away.
BetVictor say that Pelach has a 25% chance of becoming the next Huddersfield Town manager on a full-time basis and it could happen if he gets wins as interim.
