Roy Hodgson is the 2/1 favourite to return to Palace to try and steady the ship

Crystal Palace are looking for a new manager following Patrick Vieira's departure on Friday morning and UK betting sites already have a whole host of names in the market.

Former Palace manager Roy Hodgson is the early favourite at 2/1 to take over at Selhurst Park once again despite retiring back in 2022 after a stint at Watford.

BetVictor say there's a 33% chance that Hodgson is the next Palace manager with the club potentially looking for a manager who has already worked well with the players on offer.

With just 11 games left of the season they may be wanting a manager to come in with the key aim of keeping them in the league before looking elsewhere in the Summer and Hodgson would be perfect for that.

Former Nice manager Lucien Favre seems to feature in every available managerial market in the Premier League in recent months and it's no different here with bookies making him the 5/1 second favourite.

The usual suspects of Ralph Hassenhuttl, Jesse Marsch and Marcelo Bielsa also feature towards the top of the betting market according to BetVictor.

Roy Hodgson is a shock favourite at 2/1 to make a return to Crystal Palace following Patrick Vieira's dismissal on Friday.

Patrick Vieira left the club on Friday morning after a poor run of form

Patrick Vieira was sacked by Crystal Palace on Friday after 12 games without a win left the club looking like they're getting dragged into the relegation battle.

Palace haven't scored in their last four games and are just three points clear of the relegation zone despite sitting in 12th place in the Premier League table.

Part of that four game scoreless run included three games without a single shot on target which caused question marks around Vieira at the top of the club.

The 1-0 loss to rivals Brighton on Wednesday was the final nail in the coffin and made chairman Steve Parish pull the trigger on the Frenchman's time at the club.

Palace are still as big as 6/1 to be relegated this season

With Crystal Palace not winning any of their 12 matches since the start of the new year they have come tumbling down in the betting odds to be relegated from the Premier League.

Palace have been in 12th place in the table for 2 months now but now sit just 3 points off the bottom three and bookmakers now have them at 6/1 to be relegated from the league this season.

The side may be saved by clubs below them having far less class than the Palace squad with seven clubs still having loweer odds to go down this season than Palace.

Southampton are the odds on favourites at 4/11 to be relegated this year.

Palace have been backed into 6/1 to be relegated this season following the sides dismal run of form, with the club without a win since New Year's Eve.
