What the expert says...
R'Bonney Gabriel of the United States won Miss Universe 2022
R'Bonney Gabriel became the first United States winner of Miss Universe in 10 years after she was crowned winner in New Orleans on 15 January 2023.
The awards show for last year was postponed so it didn't clash with the World Cup and it was Gabriel who became champion of the universe at the event.
Just 10 months on will see the next Miss Universe crowned and the ceremonies are usually jam-packed with plenty of fans there.
When and where will Miss Universe 2023 take place?
The 2023 Miss Universe show will be held at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador on 18 November 2023.
This year's ceremony is the 72nd Miss Universe Pageant with 84 entrants in total including debutants Pakistan.
Winning the award gives you around $250,000 in prize money as well as a six-figure annual salary.
