Coldplay 1/3 to perform at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show

For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, the 2026 final will feature a Super Bowl-style halftime show with betting odds now given on who will perform during the slot.

FIFA are looking to break tradition with a halftime show in the USA next summer with the final taking place at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Early reports from The Sun suggest that British band Coldplay are already working with FIFA on the show which would also incorporate other acts into the performance.

Now the latest odds take a look at who we could see performing during the set with Coldplay unsurprisingly heavy favourites at 1/3.

What the expert says...
Coldplay are heavy favourites to perform during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show with early reports suggesting talks with FIFA have already taken place. It's expected that we'll see big acts alongside them though with massive names such as Beyonce and Rihanna featuring in the betting market for the spot!

Coldplay collaborators feature high in the market

With Coldplay currently heavy favourites to appear with those reports of talks with FIFA, collaborators with the band feature high in the market.

We look at the reasoning behind some of those big names and why Coldplay could have them as stars of the show:

  • Beyoncé – They collaborated on Hymn for the Weekend and she has major global star power.
  • Rihanna – A huge name in music who could bring energy to the set and has collaborated on Princess of China with Coldplay
  • The Chainsmokers – They worked with Coldplay on Something Just Like This and could add an EDM flair.
  • Shakira – She’s synonymous with World Cup anthems (Waka Waka, La La La).
  • Bad Bunny – One of the biggest Latin artists, with massive global appeal.
  • U2 – They have a history of major sports performances and a similar audience to Coldplay.

2026 World Cup Final will be held in the United States

2026's World Cup is set to be held across three North American countries with United States, Mexico and Canada all hosting matches across 16 cities.

The final will be played at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey which will be known as the New York New Jersey Stadium during the World Cup due to sponsorship reasoning.

FIFA are looking to take inspiration from the Super Bowl with the halftime show although the 15 minute break during Football is much shorter than the 30 minutes that the Super Bowl halftime show usually gets.

That 30 minute break is due to building and dismantling of the stage and it may well be that FIFA are looking for someone quick and easy to get on and off rather than a big spectacle.

Spain lead the early market to win the 2026 World Cup

Early odds are already given on the outright winner of the 2026 World Cup with Spain currently leading the odds.

Spain are the holders of the European Championship after beating England in the final of the competition back in 2024.

Following in the latest odds list are Brazil at 6/1, with England 13/2 joint third favourites along with France.
