Wrexham are the new favourites for the UK City of Culture
After much change in the betting market over the last few months, it's now Wrexham who are the bookmakers favourite to be the 2025 UK City of Culture.
Wrexham were 4/1 outsiders only a month ago in April, but they now see themselves as 2/1 favourites to be handed the award.
The Welsh town's official bid is down as Wrexham County Borough, with town's and borough's now available to put themselves forward for the City of Culture.

Previous favourites Bradford are now out to 7/2 outsiders to be crowned City of Culture in the UK
Bradford have long been the main favourite to be awarded the UK City of Culture, with odds as short as 11/8 to win back in April.
Since then though, Bradford have gone out to 7/2 to win the award, with bookmakers feeling they have a lesser chance than they did just 3 weeks ago.
As the spotlight ramps up on each individual nominees, it may well be that other cities and towns have just put up a better package than Bradford have.

The 2025 UK City of Culture award is set to be handed out at the end of May, with no set date currently pencilled in.
The next week sees the four remaining nominees having individual days to show off their location through social media.
Coventry are the current City of Culture after being awarded the accolade back in December of 2017.
According to Arts Minister John Glen, the win was "an incredible opportunity for Coventry to boost investment in the local economy, grow tourism and put arts and culture centre stage".
The 2025 UK City of Culture award is set to be handed out at the end of this month, with no specific date yet pencilled in. Wrexham now lead the way at odds of 2/1 to win.
