2021 AFCON Tournament
Online bookmakers were originally split on which country to make favourite before plumping for Senegal, it will be interesting to see after group stages whether Algeria, Egypt and Senegal top the African Cup Of Nations market.
You can see by the bookmaker AFCON odds that there looks to be lots of deadwood in the competition, with a hardcore of 8 or 9 countries with a genuine chance of winning AFCON.
The African Cup Of Nations tournament starts on the 9th January 2022 with the final on the 6th February.
Six Groups of 4 (A-F) will play each other at this stage before the top 2 from each group and the four highest-ranked third-placed teams advance to the knockout round of 16.

African Cup Of Nations Top Scorer
Mohamed Salah of Liverpool headed the AFCON Top Scorer betting but Egypt has performed poorly so far.
Aboubakar of Cameroon leads the way with 5 goals in 3 games, followed by Kone of Mali with 3.
Naturally, all players have a better chance of winning the AFCON Golden Boot the longer their country stays in the tournament.
2019 AFCON
Algeria are the current AFCON champions having won the tournament in 2019 when it was held in Egypt.
In the final, they defeated Senegal 1-0 having scored very early in the game.
Both finalists came from the same group (C) with Algeria already having beaten Senegal in the group match by the same scoreline.
Nigeria took on Tunisia in the third-place game, with the score ending 1-0 to the Nigerians.
