The 21st season of American Idol is in full swing, having premiered on Feb. 19, 2023 with the start of the audition stages in Las Vegas, Nevada. The auditions stages are now complete, and we now know who has gotten their golden tickets to Hollywood, and who has unfortunately been sent home. Of the contestants that have gotten the go ahead to Hollywood, there are certainly a handful that have managed to stand out from the pack.

In this article, we’ll be laying out the American Idol betting odds for who we think the top contestants for the rest of the competition will be, based on the success of their auditions. We think these contestants have a good shot of being in the final five, and thus, a shot at winning the entire competition.

American Idol Current Odds

Contestant Moneyline Probability
Cam Amen
+350 22.22%
Kaylin Hedges
+350 22.22%
Nutsa +400 20%
Mariah Faith
+550 15.4%
Trey Louis
+750 11.8%

At this point in the competition, it’s truly anyone’s game. However, these contestants really managed to wow the judges during the audition stages, which raises their odds of making it further into the competition.

Cam Amen: +350

The 27-year old Omaha native Cam Amen brought tears to the judges eyes with his touching rendition of Leonard Cohen’s famous ballad “Hallelujah”. His performance earned him a coveted platinum ticket, which means Amen will skip the first round of the Hollywood portion of the competition. Even past that, we think Amen will continue to deliver fantastic performances with his emotive, soulful singing style. He’s definitely a contestant to keep your eyes on during the rest of the competition.

Kaylin Hedges: +350

This 15-year old has a voice that sounds beyond her years. She possesses great control of her falsetto, combined with a powerful vocal, and her audition caused the judges to give her a standing applause. She performed “I’m Already There” from Lonestar, which proved to be a great choice, as Hedges earned a platinum ticket from the judges, allowing her to skip the first week of the Hollywood portion of the competition. She has the top odds on our table, alongside fellow platinum ticket winner Cam Amen.

Nutsa: +400

Although Nutsa lives in Dubai, she originally hails from the Eastern European country of Georgia. The 25-year old has a powerful voice reminiscent of singers like Shakira and Christina Aguilera. She actually sang two songs during her audition - “Lady Marmalade” by Christina Aguilera, and “Greatest Love of All” by Whitney Houston. These two songs allowed the singer to show off her impressive range, which earned her a ticket to Hollywood, and perhaps beyond.

Mariah Faith: +550

Mariah affected the judges by dedicating her songs to her recently deceased stepfather. However, judge Katy Perry didn’t love her first choice of song for her audition, “Whenever You Come Around” by Vince Gill, claiming Mariah was “playing it safe”. Perry suggested “I Can’t Make You Love Me” by Bonnie Raitt, which the judges enjoyed. She has a great tone in her singing voice, which should make her go far in the competition.

Trey Louis: +750

Trey Louis’ audition went viral on the internet, but perhaps it wasn’t just due to his vocal chops. Judge Katy Perry broke down after hearing his motivation for appearing on the competition, which was due to a school shooting he experienced. Nevertheless, the judges were impressed with Louis’ rendition of “Stone” by Whiskey Myers, as the teenager showed off his powerful country vocals. Louis is definitely one that should progress through the competition on the strength of his talent alone.
