Revelation over hurdles this year with form figures of 112 and going up 20lbs in the hcap as a consequence. Returns to the flat today for the first time this year in the same race he won last year (when confined to apprentice jockeys, rated 48). Races off 49 today but has the assistance of a 10lb claimer (yet to win a race) who will presumably (being connected to the stable) have sat on the horse at some point. A wide draw often no disadvantage at Navan and in his current mood is worth keeping on side.

Improving, slowly maturing 4yo gelding with 2 wins from 5 starts, whilst leaving the impression he is still learning. Eyecatching performances last two starts suggest he could be useful. Returned from a 169-day break here at Kempton in June when an unlucky 4th/12 over 11f, producing a very smart turn of foot from 3f out only to meet interference inside the final f. Made no mistake in a small hcap at Ascot lto 43 days ago, despite doing a lot wrong he again produced that smart turn of foot at the same point in the race, only this time surged away to win easily by 4l. A 7lb rise for that win may appear harsh in the context of today's race as his form is inferior to one or two of the others but on sheer potential alone he is worth an interest for a stable that have a great record in hcaps here at Kempton.

Talented Hcap hurdler improving with age winning 3 of last 7 starts. Arguably boasts the best recent form on offer when easily beating a Paul Nicholls horse (won twice since in Class 2 hcaps, now rated 135) off level weights (rated 123) on return at Worcester in June. Has since run creditably in two fiercely competitive hcaps at Uttoxeter (lto 11/2, well backed), finishing off well enough in 4th both times in races that were not run to suit. Has a win here at Bangor and a more evenly run race looks likely today which should allow him to be very competitive off his career high mark of 130 in the expectation there is more to come following a 40-day break.

Thrice winning filly with just about the best strike rate in the field. Quiet in 4 runs this year following 10 months off (weak in the betting prior and IR) . Signs of life lto though when 4/12 in a decent enough looking claimer over 10.5f at Sligo (winner good 3rd in Curragh Hcap since), making progress from an unpromising postion late on. Even though that was by far her best run this year she was dropped to a mark of 62 (4lbs lower than last win). Being from the Byrnes yard who knows if today is the day but Adam Caffrey has been booked for the first time this year (2/4 on the filly, 31% for the trainer) and she steps back to a more suitable looking trip in a weak race from what should be a decent draw in stall 4. Fast ground would be a slight worry although she ran well enough on quickish ground in a Curragh Hcap final start last year. Worth a small bet at value odds.

Two runs this year since moving to the Cole's. Returned with an excellent 5th/17 behind Economics at Newbury (gs ground) in one of the hottest maidens run this season. Off 115 days before winning her mdn at Nottingham (gf), made all and won comfortably. Hard to gauge the worth of that form but she did beat several representatives from big yards. Encouraging that she runs again after only 10 days, suggesting she has come out of the Nottingham race well. Should that be the case she looks set to go well at a course where her stable are 7/33 (21%) over the past 2 years. Worth noting that her grand dam had black type on soft ground over 8-10f so the different underfoot conditions today may not be a disadvantage.

Form in hcaps at Killarney reads 51327, including a win over C&D on soft ground (rated 61) and a close 2nd in a division of this race last year (rated 59). Won a hcap over 7f at Fairyhouse last month (rated 53, form franked), two quiet runs followed but better lto when staying on 3rd/17 at Leopardstown again over 7f (rated 57, form franked). Back over 1m today off a fair looking mark of 54, from a handicapping perspective he shouldn't be far away.

Front runner, good level of form all 5 starts. Stepped up to 1m when winning well at Newmarket lto (well backed 10/11f, good time) dictating and having the opposition well beaten off at the 2f pole. A low draw has been essential in this race in the past and being prominent has certainly been an advantage this week (Thunder Run made all from stall 6 in the 1m Hcap yesterday). Stable/jockey won this race in 2018 with Urban Aspect.

Two Novice wins early this summer, latterly when powering away to win a moderate race on Tapeta debut at Wolverhampton. Took a step forward at Chester lto when 2nd/9 (form franked), making up significant ground out wide to challenge inside the final f before being nabbed by a finisher over on the rail. Drawn next to possible pace angle The Coffee Pod here the 5f trip on stand/slw going could prove ideal for this improving young sprinter .  His shrewd stable remain in good form and boast a 21% strike rate at Newcastle.

Mullins novice hurdler that may still be improving judged on his 7th/19 in the Galway Hurdle lto ( 33/1 and nibbled, Fascile Mode well held back in 15th). Best form previously in May over C&D when unseating at the last with the race at his mercy (form franked). Prone to jumping errors but hopefully experience and being reunited with Paul Townend will eradicate the bad errors and he can start to fulfil his potential by righting the wrong of his unlucky previous visit here.

Quiet in his first three runs but a switch to hcaps garnered improvement when winning a small nursery at Ascot (10/3 well backed) in July, running on strongly over 6f. Followed up in another small race at Yarmouth over 7f (4th won since), again hitting the line strongly. Up only 4lbs for the two wins (now rated 78) and every chance a strong pace in a bigger field will see him improve further for a yard that won this race in 2022 with Kyeema (rated 82) and boast a 29% strike rate (since 2009) with their juveniles at the Ebor Festival.

Improving filly, 3/8 on turf. Eyecacthing performance lto when easily winning the Listed Aphroite Stakes at Newmarket in a quick time on fast ground (5/1 well backed, form franked), looking every inch a Group filly. Didn't finish far behind Queen of the Pride when 3rd/13 at Haydock In June when running freely on a racing surface her trainer described as a 'skidpan'. Conditions today should suit her ideally and she looks value odds racing in the famous silks of her owner/breeder that have been synonymous with big race winners at the Ebor Festival down the years.

Unexposed after 4 career starts, 2 runs this summer. Threw the race away when close 2nd/10 at Wolverhampton penultimate start (ran green, 1.02 IR, moderate form) and travelled well enough before stamina emptied over 10f at Lingfield lto. What makes him an interesting proposition today is the drop back to 7f and the fact his full brother City Of York (same connections and jockey) won on his hcap debut here at Kempton last August (won off 72, rated as high as 83) having also graduated from AW Novice races. David Simcock will surely have had a hcap at Kempton in mind for Thortonledale Max off an opening mark of 70.

Fine win record of 7/21 in hcap chases and hurdles for Charlie Longsden. One of only two course winners in the field and the only C&D winner (off 93, decent form back in July 22). Three wins in chases since, the last of which was off a mark of 111 at Bangor in July 23. Returned from a 394 day lay off back over hurdles when 6th/12 (16/1 market drifter) over an inadequate 2 miles here 27 days ago, travelled and jumped well and was still in contention 2 out before weakening late on. Should come on for that return run and runs today off a hurdles mark of 97 with Elizabeth Gale taking off 7lb. He looks to have retained ability so may have a little wriggle room off his hurdles mark and it is worth noting the stable has a 21% strike rate utilising 7lb claimers in hcap hurdles. Worth a small interest at 9/1+.

Rated 91 at his peak following 5 wins from 9 starts back in the spring/summer of 2022, in the handicappers grip and winless since, mainly contesting better class races than today at grade 1 tracks. Signs of life last 2 starts, 8th/17 at York 26 days ago (finishing upsides Great Max who has won twice since), staying on late in the day. Better again lto when 4th/9 (13/2 and gambled) in a fast run 1m Hcap at Redcar being short of room late on and btn 1.75l. Off a mark of just 73 today (3lb lower than York) and any further progress should see him run well back over 7f at a track where he finished 2nd/5 (btn hd) off 85 during his purple patch back in 2022.

Filly who is 2/2 and the only unbeaten runner in the race. Won as she should have done in a poor 6f Novice race at Pontefract lto when the race fell apart and was all over 2f out. She is of far greater interest on her debut run when a convincing winner at Nottingham (form franked) , one could count Mick Easterby first time out 2yo winners on one hand so she can certainly be marked up for the win.  Interestingly one first time out 2yo winner of Easterby's Risky Art went on to win a nursery at the Ebor meeting back in 2011 (yard 2/7 in Ebor Nurseries since 2010). Worth an interest at double figure odds.

1/5 and still unexposed. Showed next to nothing until 1st time visor applied lto when winning 12 runner 7f Hcap at Donc (25/1, well held 6th a winner since) getting am uncontested lead and showing a willing attitude to repel 3 challengers late on when looking sure to be caught. A 3lb rise seems very fair for today's AW debut in what looks on paper to be a weaker contest. No definite evidence in his pedigree that Tapeta will suit although his sire Aclaim is 13/87 (15%), +38.96 at BSP, A/E 1.44 with his runners over 7f on Tapeta which offers hope. Well drawn for a prominent racer in stall 1 and stable continue in good form with 3 winners in the past week.

Slow maturing filly, 2/2 as a 3yo in AW Novices at Kempton. Rapidly improving sprinter this year, returned with an excellent 2nd/13 in a Listed F&M race full of battle hardened sprinters over 5f at Bath (form franked). Won a small listed race nto over 6f at Haydock (very well backed) but it was her latest 2nd/11 over 6f in a Group3 at Deauville that really caught the eye. Tracking the leaders she endured a far from clear passage but showed an excellent turn of foot once in the clear to lead inside the final furlong just to be headed close home by the 112 rated Shouldvebeenaring. She is surely far superior than her current BHA rating of 101 and with Ryan Moore retaining the ride and the forecast fast pace in her favour she is fancied to maintain her progress today.

Showed nothing when big odds in 3 Novice races around the turn of the year. Landed a punt (14/1 to 11/2) 2nd start following a break when winning on Hcap debut over 6f at Southwell (good form for the level). Best to forget Chelmsford run next start but much better on return from an 84-day break when 2nd/12 over 6f at Kempton last month (fair form, 20/1 & nibbled). Returns today on 2nd start after latest break at a course where her trainer does really well with his small string in Hcaps(7/13, 21%, +42.44 at BSP, A/E 1.78 all codes). On pedigree the step back to 7f should prove no issue and despite an uninspiring jockey booking is worth a small bet at 6/1+.

Big prices and quiet all three starts in Mdn/Novice races for this well bred filly. Much better on Nursery debut (6/1, well backed) when 2nd/8 at Ffos Las , making good headway on the flank from the rear and keeping on well enough to finish clear of the third (cosy winner since).  Hopefully will have a decent pace to aim at on AW debut and although no firm evidence in pedigree the surface will suit sire Pinatubo is 1/2 on the AW so far with his first crop. Hayley Turner takes over from a 5lb claimer and the trainer has a 19% strike rate in AW Nurseries (only 6% on turf).
