A 22-point loss wasn't something the Mavs planned ahead of the series opener on Tuesday, but here we are. The four day layoff after the series vs the Clippers didn't help, in fact it did just the opposite. Dallas looked rusty, especially Luka Doncic who went just 6-for-19 from the field and 1-for-8 from distance, breaking a streak of 24 consecutive postseason games with at least 20 points. Adjustments will have to be made ahead of Game 2, Dallas is yet to win a game in OKC in 3 tries this season. I must admit I haven't seen anything from them in Tuesday's game that would warrant considering backing them here.Whenever your best player is able to maintain his consistency, your odds of winning will be high.

In their 5th game overall and 3rd at home of the postseason the Thunder were once again able to hold their opponent to under 100 points. We’re seeing next level defense compared to other teams right now, the 2nd best defensive rating (Orlando) is 5.2 points worse than Oklahoma City’s so far this postseason. Because of this the under has cashed in all but 1 of the 5 games played so far, the Mavs might struggle scoring the ball once again on Thursday. Dallas got outrebounded by 13 in Game 1, their ball movement was stale at times resulting in just 19 assists total and they even struggled from the free throw line connecting on just 68% of their attempts. The 39% shooting was their 2nd worst offensive efficiency game so far this postseason, that’s quite a few things they’ll have to fix in just 2 days in between Games 1 and 2. With that being the case, I’m more in favor of going under the total once again here, that bet has cashed in 4 of the last 5 Mavs road games and in 6 of 7 for OKC vs Southwest Division opponents. Back a low scoring game here.

They won the regular NBA season series against the Cavs 2-1, with all games won by the home team. Boston has that extra home advantage in this postseason tournament.
