PROFILE UPDATED 1ST APRIL 20222...................... They say Gamblers are slaves to superstition with a solid belief in luck, connecting past events with future outcomes and seeing patterns where only randomness exists. Taking that statement into account with not much success recently using various systems, will be using a new system of my own based on what I once was told in a bookies by someone who I always just thought was a lucky punter. Use to bet years ago in the bookies or betting shops before the advent of online betting. Only recently got back into horse racing after a break of 12 years plus. Joined OLBG in December 2020 looking for free tips, started tipping in January 2021.

Take No Chances is not the most strong favourite looking at the form, clear round he probably would win this. His jumping is still not fluent enough to nominate here. Do like the claims of Saint Davy from the Jonjo O'Neill yard here, does like this type of distance, does have an off day as we all do. On a going day he is a pretty smart hurdler and worthy of respect, rate in the top three here... worthy to forward as my NAP of the day in this race.

Zoom Star has just edged the vote over Object, this is not a strong line up even Astapor could take this. Object appeals due to the favour in weights with jockey Alexander Fielding claims the full allowance, he is a fair rider so lots of pluses, the negative is Object whose heart does not appear to be in this game any more unless a miracle has happened in the 166 days break. Zoom Star has had a recent warm up run at this course and distance 21 days ago, the ground has improved since then and so has Zoom Star, trainer is B Smart knows how and when to place them. Jockey Andrew Breslin not the best stats for the Catterick course, though Andrew is riding much better this month and does have a good strike rate for this trainer.

Regal Reality is the oldie of the race as a 9yo Bay Gelding who looks to have the work cut out here competing against a field that is a bit of class that they all scream winner. Newmarket normally throws up a few shocks for the favourite backers, it's asking a lot to back the oldie here. Jockey R L Moore could be riding Regal Reality to a new reality here, the oldest runner to win the Earl Of Sefton Stakes. The two time winner Mull Of Killough is the eldest so far at eight years old won 2014 and at seven years old in 2013. Which brings it back to this track where Regal Reality has yet to record a win, best was a second in the Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Joel Stakes September 23 beaten a neck by 5yo Mutasaaebq, a runner with three Group 2 wins to his ability.

Still worth following Miners Gamble after a decent third at this course and distance 29 days ago after a decent showing from a poor position, the only problem seems to be Cuban Storm who has been back from twelve to one to seven to four, so a good display is expected here although based on the three turf runs so far. Looks like this runner has shown dramatic improvement in training since 179 day break, still recent run of Miners Gamble swings it still in my opinion.

Not much success in first NHF race, followed by three hurdles best result a poor third. Indian Louis seems more at home chasing with a win and a recent third which was a good result considering the lack of fluency in his jumping that day, regular jockey D R Fox should know this one pretty well now after six rides, if Indian Louis gets his jumping back on track then should be in the shake up.

Taking into account the price of the favourite Now Is The Hour looks almost a certain winner here, the value of that bet makes looking for a placed runner worth the effort. The real deal could be with siding with runner Dreal Deal who has some good form over hurdles, though you have to go back to 2021 to appreciate that. Has taken part and won 60k races and competed against top opposition also worth mentioning the flat achievements of Dreal Deal won three of those coupled with the four hurdle wins then worth siding with in this Beginners Chase, still a shade high in the Handicap ratings in my opinion. Taking a chance and rolling the dice for Dreal Deal mainly the distance and the services of jockey S D Torrens could be enough to get a cut of the action.

There is a lot to like about this field of runners, the absence of 128 days is the only doubt regarding Elladonna. This 4yo bay filly may have come on for that break and trainer J R Fanshawe runners are doing well at the moment, which is the main reason for this selection. Jockey Daniel Muscutt does well at this course with a twelve percent strike rate, sixteen percent strike rate overall for April combined with a fifteen percent strike rate for trainer J R Fanshawe. Will this be enough it's hard to say in this contest though I have a feeling that Elladonna has a lot more to offer than shown so far.

A fair hurdler for Evan Williams who now sends Out Of Focus to Hereford for his first venture chasing, it's probably a big ask to carry top weight here on chasing bow though that is a reflection of the ability shown so far as a hurdler. This race has a few runners who have crossed paths before, should be a close run affair between those principals. The way this race pans out we could see that Loughville who is lightly raced having a total of six races to his career so far, make his mark here. This is the second outing for Loughville since having wind surgery finished fifth at Chelmsford when racing keenly under Rossa Ryan, trainer A King turns Loughville out for another try quite quickly 24 days after first attempt, Rossa Ryan employed again should see a better showing here today.

Cannon Rock missed the break at Southwell still managed the win in a twelve runner contest at Southwell Class 4 race, this is a big step up in class here. The low mileage on this four year makes it hard to gauge if trainer James Owen is seeing what Canon Rock is capable of here or believes that he has a serious chance here. Was transferred from the yard of M Appleby back in October 2022 to James Owen who has not run Canon Rock until 32 days ago at Southwell warm up for today's Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Rosebery Handicap. The blinkers are back on, the drop back in distance here. I have looked at that race at Southwell, Canon Rock produced a turn of foot that was eye catching in the final furlong that day, Cannon Rock could be booming into the limelight here and surprise everybody.

Louisiana Bay appeals has been kept busy in 2024 with a win, couple of placed efforts and has Oisin Murphy taking the ride which helps in a sixteen runner event. There are several others who have claims too which makes this a bit of a puzzle to solve taking into account a bit of luck will be involved with regard to the size of the field calling the winner in this is not easy. Night Bear does have a bit to prove considering last wins were back in October 2022 with the recent third place at Newcastle over this distance struggled to find the extra in the last furlong. The appeal here is in the first time up rider Rossa Ryan this booking with the considerate mark that Night Bear is on could be all that is required to make the difference. Worth each way option, as the saying goes Follow The Bear, do I play safe ..No.....being a cheeky Monkey straight win
