Had a good season over hurdles and brought that form to the flat when a decent 3rd over 2m at Nottingham . Could argue that Sandown 1m 6f is best for Young Merlin but was 4th of 5 C/D only run off 75 so todays 62 plus 3lb off suggests every chance with sole win coming off 70

Carries a 6lb penalty but yard must be immpressed since Good Morning Alex stepped up to a mile winning in this class twice Southwell and Newcastle and then won again following a decent run in class 3 company and then went to the turf after a 4th at Southwell and came away from the rest on soft to record easy win . 6lb higher probabally wont be enough and would imagine handicapper will re access this one higher than that and so this looks a good opportunity

I would take a guess that Nurbergring can run better than at Cheltenham and missed Aintree through lameness so just wonder what horse was at Cheltenham , Either way it was running after 3 months off when 4th keeping on in the Triumph and comes into this with Cheek pieces and is 1/1 when on a Right handed course so there should be improvment to be had

Finally coming good over 3m and could have won last Two but for a stumble 2 out when every chance and does have experiance of Cross Country here 3m1f when keeping on same pace here last year . Trianer appears to have gone off boil in this recent years but phenomanol record all the same with McManus horses but always has one placed as rule and since 2018 with one abandonment and no runner in 2022 they were 3rd in 2019 3rd in 2021 and beaten a Neck last year

Greantean won this twice till Jonbon lowered that ones colours last year when winning this but every winner was either 1st or 2nd in the Tingle Creek December C/D and Jonbon again beat Edwarstone to win latest
