Edwinp's Tips

5th February 2025
12:55 12:55 Fairyhouse

Paggane

Daily Racing

80 WINNAPAThis tip was used on Horse Racing 4Fold Acca.

Paggane, a flat winner in France, won two hurdle races last year. Switching to fences, she put up a decent performance the first time in a Grade 2 chase at Limerick, finishing second behind Bioluminescence, where she warmed to her jumping after a slow jump at the first.
13:25 1:25 Fairyhouse

Thelonglad

Daily Racing

50 EWNB

The Long Lad is two pounds out of the handicap here but is not without a chance off bottom weight. He was coming off a break of 266 days when switching to fences in his first chase at Limerick last time and was in the lead going best when falling two out. This is a slightly better race, but he should go well with a clear round.
13:35 1:35 Sedgefield

Laravie

Daily Racing

50 EW

Laravie has yet to show significant improvement since joining James Owen from Ireland where she finished second in both a bumper and a hurdle race but this is only her third race in the UK and she should be given another chance moving back to a maiden hurdle race from a handicap.
13:55 1:55 Fairyhouse

Sa Majeste

Daily Racing

50 WIN

Paul Townend gets to ride Sa Majeste for only the second time as Mark Walsh goes on Any Second Now. In this Rated Chase, he is the bottom weight because his one win over fences was only by a short head. However, he will appreciate the soft/heavy going as all his wins have been on heavy, and he could win again here.
14:05 2:05 Sedgefield

Zwicky

Daily Racing

50 EW

Zwicky enjoys running at Sedgefield, with three of his four wins coming here: two hurdles and a chase. All his wins are around two and a half miles, but he can stay this marathon distance. He has a lower mark over hurdles than fences and has two second places in chases here over a similar distance this season.
14:15 2:15 Ludlow

Jasmine Bliss

Daily Racing

55 WINAThis tip was used on Horse Racing 4Fold Acca.

Jasmine Bliss, an Irish point winner and dual bumper winner, shaped well first time out over hurdles when 2nd at Lingfield but faded badly at Ffos Las last time and needs to bounce back to win this.
14:25 2:25 Fairyhouse

Puturhandstogether

Daily Racing

80 WINAThis tip was used on Horse Racing 4Fold Acca.

Juvenile hurdler Puturhandstogether still lacks experience as a hurdler but jumped much better in his second race when winning a 20-runner maiden hurdle at Cork from his more fancied stablemate Turn And Finish. That was on soft going, and he could follow up on similar going as main rival Ballysax Hank, who is running for the first time since switching to Gavin Cromwell, has previously been scratched from running on soft going, so sustained support for him is puzzling.
14:35 2:35 Sedgefield

Tom Creen

Daily Racing

80 WIN

Tom Creen made all here to win a chase over two miles three and a half furlongs last time. That was his fifth chase win, all at Sedgefield. He has never run over the minimum distance in a chase, but as a frontrunner, it should not be a problem for him.
14:45 2:45 Ludlow

Faitque De LIsle

Daily Racing

50 EW

Faitque De L'Isle finished third last time from three pounds out of the handicap. He has become more competitive this season as his handicap mark continues to fall, now a lowly 75. His only win came off a mark of 96 in October 2022, and he could go close again.
14:55 2:55 Fairyhouse

Legionnaire Forez

Daily Racing

70 WIN

Legionnaire Forez was an expensive purchase after his second place in a French bumper and is well thought of at Willie Mullins before his first juvenile hurdle race. Although there are some potentially nice hurdlers against him, he should not be too troubled to win if he jumps round safely.
15:35 3:35 Sedgefield

Bridgetjoans

Daily Racing

50 EW

Bridgetjoans had consecutive second places last season and has taken time to get back to that level this season. But in her latest race at Newcastle, she finished a close fourth where she briefly led three out. She remains on a lowly mark of 84 with Charlie Maggs taking off his 5 pounds allowance.
15:55 3:55 Fairyhouse

Elusive Guy

Daily Racing

50 EW

Elusive Guy ran probably his best race last time when 2nd at Clonmel since winning his very first hurdle in Limerick in November. Claiming jockey Peter Smithers rode him in both races and rides again on a mark of 102, up two pounds from last time, but he has his preferred soft/heavy going.
16:05 4:05 Sedgefield

Bebside Banter

Daily Racing

50 WINAThis tip was used on Horse Racing 4Fold Acca.

Bebside Banter was last of four, beaten 28 lengths by Beat The Edge last time at Catterick. But he could get his revenge back at his favoured Sedgefield course, where all three of his chase wins have come, including one over this distance in January 2024.

16th March 2025
20:00 Six Nations 2025

Ireland

64 WIN

France is most pundits' pick to win the Six Nations Tournament in 2025. However, it could come down to the match in Ireland on 8th March. With France also being away to England earlier in the tournament, they could fail to win both of those, giving Ireland a chance to clinch the trophy.
