13th March 2025
18:00 Tallon Griekspoor vs Holger Rune

Tallon Griekspoor

Win Match

50 WIN

I do not see Griekspoor as such a huge underdog. It is true that Rune is the higher-ranked player, but it is also true that Griekspoor is leading with 2-0 in the direct encounters. Rune beat an in-form Tsitsipas, but I think that was a fluke, and I take Griekspoor to win.

Tallon Griekspoor to win 2 - 0

Set Betting

50 WIN

Rune is very sharp and can be a machine for winners. At the same time, he is far from consistent lately. I think if Griekspoor holds off the Dane in the beginning, then we can see a lot of unforced errors and frustration from Rune. I see value in a win in straight sets for Griekspoor.

Cam Davis

1st Round Leader

25 EW

Davis is very long from the tee and does not have any problems with the irons. He was in the top 6 after day one at Bay Hill. Here he missed the cut three times from four appearances, but posted top 6 in the fourth. Three figures look too big for Cam Davis to lead after day one.

Justin Thomas

1st Round Leader

50 WIN

Thomas is one of the players that was on my shortlist for outright win, but I prefer to stick with them only on day one. His iron game gives him enough confidence here, and he is a former winner here. He has rounds of 64 and 65 here, and I think he can lead after day one.

Keith Mitchell

1st Round Leader

25 EW

Mitchell has very solid form with five made cuts in his last five appearances overall, but with nothing special. Keith is excellent with the irons, and he is driving the ball well enough lately. His putter did not seem solid enough for an outright bet, but I think he can shine on day one.

Wyndham Clark

1st Round Leader

25 EW

Clark made five cuts in his last six starts overall. Here, he missed the cut in his first two starts, but afterwards he was T27-T2. Moreover, he led here last year after day one. Furthermore, he led after day one in two of his last three starts. Looks like a sound each way bet.

Hideki Matsuyama

50 WIN

The Japanese simply loves to play here. In his last nine starts here, Matsuyama posted four top 8s. In addition to that, he holds the course record with nine under. His form is more than impressive. He won the Sentry and made seven cuts in a row with five top 25s. My call is Matsuyama to win the title.

Patrick Cantlay

25 EW

Cantlay is a player who does not have any weak spots. He can play on all kinds of courses. Patrick is in excellent form with five top 33s in a row. Here he does not have some significant results. If he found his form with the irons, I think Cantlay can post a top 8 finish.

Tommy Fleetwood

Top GB and Ireland

50 WIN

The Englishman has five top 35s in his last six starts here. It looks like he is always solid, but not solid enough for an outright bet. He posted four top 22s in a row, and if Rory blinks, then I think Tommy can be top GB and Ireland.
22:45 The Players Championship

Corey Conners

25 EW

Conners has the potential to eclipse this week. He played very conservatively last week tee to green on day four. He ended bogey-free but made one sole birdie. Conners has three top 26s in the last four starts here, and I think the Canadian will use the momentum.

Sepp Straka

25 EW

Last week, Straka managed to bounce back after an opening round of 77 at Bay Hill with 66-69-69. Straka posted six top 15s in his last eight starts, including the win at the American Express. Straka has a couple of top 16s in his last four starts here and looks a sound each way bet.

Shane Lowry

25 EW

Lowry posted for us a top 7 finish last week and was in contention for three days. He is ranked 12th per strokes gained from approaching. He is excellent around the greens. He has three top 19s in the last four starts here, and I take Shane on each way terms.
