The dragon symbol is a wild multiplier symbol that substitutes for all symbols except the fire cloud symbols and the scatter symbol. The dragon symbol has multipliers of x1, x2, x3, x4, x5 and x10.

When the dragon symbol and fire cloud symbol land at the same time, the Dragon feature is triggered. When the dragon symbol jumps to a fire cloud symbol, the multiplier for the Dragon Symbol increases by + 1. The Dragon Symbol will collect all fire cloud symbols in view before a new cascade begins. Each jump will leave a golden dragon symbol on the grid with the multiplier it had before jumping. 

Instant Prize Symbols

When these coin symbols land, they are multipliers, with values ranging from x1 up  to x1,000. The payouts are triggered by a cluster of 5 or more matching symbols.

Mystic Flare 

When there is no winning combo on the grid, there is a random chance that the Mystic Flare feature will trigger which you can see below. Larger Mystic symbols will land on the reel, which range from 2x2 up to 4x4. These symbols are then split into 1x1 symbols, which can transform into other symbols - paying symbols, instant prize symbols, dragon symbols, or the scatter.

Free Spins 

Landing  3, 4 or 5 bonus scatter symbols triggers the Free Spins feature and awards 6, 9 or 12 free spins, respectively. Once the feature starts, the dragon, golden dragon, fire cloud and instant prize symbols from the base game will remain in the same position with the same values. 

Any empty positions on the grid will spin through to land on either:

Bubble 

Just before the Free Spins feature starts, a bubble symbol will show on the grid either as 1 symbol or a stack of up to 5. The values of the bubble symbol range between 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 and 500. 

The Bubble symbol moves one grid space per spin, and this can be done either vertically or diagonally. Every time it lands on one of the special symbols, this is the outcome:

• Golden Dragon: adds the bubble's value to the symbol’s multiplier value.
• Fire Cloud: adds the bubble's value to the Fire Cloud, which then transforms into the Golden Dragon once the Dragon Feature is complete.
• Instant Prize: adds the bubble's value to the value of the symbol.

Like most Push Gaming slots, Dragon Hopper is a polished-looking title. While I’m not typically a fan of Asian-themed slots due to the huge amount that are on offer,  this game stands out as a softer, zen-like example, offering a refreshing change from the more traditional games in this genre.

Dragon Hopper combines elements from popular titles like  Crystal Catcher and Fire Hopper, while introducing exciting new features such as the Bubble and Dragon Features so it’s a great combo of new and familiar.

Though it’s a small gripe, I found the bonus features a bit confusing initially due to the variety of symbols. However, the range of features is impressive. The Dragon Feature was particularly exciting, with the dragon and fire cloud symbols working together to trigger multipliers of up to x10.

Dragon Hopper is a decent example of a Cluster Pays slot game, a slots genre that continues to grow in popularity.
